“There’s magic that brought us together. And that magic… is hope.” -Pikachu
So there we go, folks, last May 9, a fantasy movie was released and it’s still hitting the cinemas around the world. I’m sure, 7 out of 10 kids or young at heart wants to be a Pokemon trainer, or maybe more. Pokemon coiled from the name Pocket Monsters, it is made from Japan by The Pokemon Company which is owned by Nintendo.
Pokemon is a virtual game, turned to anime, turned into a film and many more, is about cute pet-like monsters which can be caught with the use of pokeballs and each players can collect as many as they can. They can also use them for battle against other pokemon trainer. and the more your pokemon evolve, the more chances of winning each battle. Based on the anime, each tournament has a badge prize and others can get the badge by defeating the gym trainor. Few of the many that we have seen were Ash Ketchum, Misty and Brock. Each episodes of the Pokemon Anime, Ash and his friends face battles including the Team Rocket, Jessie and James. However in the movie, they focused on the more realistic side of how does it look like if the setting of Pokemon is actually made in real life.
Detective Pikachu is about a 21 year old lad named, Tim, played by Justice Smith, son of an ace detective in the Ryme City, A city that focuses on welfare of the Pokemon and how they interact with humans.

Tim was sought out to attend to his father’s belongings since his father, went missing and presumably dead after a car crash which was put to question when Tim met Harry’s Pokemon, Pikachu. Well, at least not just a normal Pikachu but a talking one (Voice of Ryan Reynolds) but Tim is the only one who can understand Pikachu. Since both have the ability to understand each other, they team up to solve the mysterious case of Tim’s father. Both were not convinced that Harry is dead and so they chase clues to find the answer they have been searching for.
Before even digging deeper into the mystery, they met a psyduck with its trainer, Lucy Stevens, played by Kathryn Newton, an intern at a news company in Ryme City, who investigates about the case of Harry Goodman. To know the whereabouts, they were able to solve bits and pieces of the puzzle with the help of Lucy.

Later in the movie, they discovered that there’s so much more than what they think they know about the case and about the city. Little did they know, not everyone can be trusted and perhaps, even the people who offers them good are the ones who wanted to harm them. They will be put in the middle of chaos and will learn that pokemon and human bond are literally more than what the capacity of a human can imagine.
I’m not gonna spoil more coz I want you all guys to discover everything on your own. After all, watching an anime-turned to reality is just too much to take(in a good way) and I can assure you that kids, young adults and even oldies can relate to whatever the movie is trying to show.
Btw, Ryan Reynolds as the voice of Pikachu is just as adorable as Deadpool, there were moments I thought I was hearing Deadpool more than I here Pikachu and being a caffeine-addict Pikachu is just another level of OMGs!
And as for the realizations I found after watching the movie, it seems surreal to have a Pokemon in reality but I believe the movie can actually tickle your imagination, especially when it comes to living with Pokemon around.
For those who are Pokemon fans out there, I’m so sure this movie will hit your soft spot. I mean, imagine you can catch a pokemon when you see one and bet you will flip if you knew that being a pokemon trainer is actually a job. too much to love, right?
There were also scenes from the video games that were reenacted on the movie which I find really cool coz who doesn’t like something that you just see in the screen seems to come into life.

In my opinion, Pokemons are like pets, well, that’s what they’re supposed to be but Pokemons are more than just pets, they’re like your gate to magic and fantasy. one or two pokemon will change you just like how pets change your way of thinking about animals. And If Pokemons are real, I bet you’ll be all busy catching em all!
P.S. I so love jiggly puff! And can you imagine how excited I was seeing all those pokemon around? Even Snorlaxx sleeping in the curb? Ahhh, yes! You should watch it!
I would love to give this movie a 90% wonderroanne rating!
Pokemon is still playing in all the cinemas around the world so don’t miss the chance of living a magical dream.
