Senate: So you’d want to make Godzilla our pet.
Dr: Serizawa: No. We would be his.
Everyone has been waiting for this moment to arrived; Last May 30, Godzilla: King of Monsters crashes the cinemas again giving the world a new plot. Amidst the reviews, it was able to earn something but not as much as the previous one did or any of the monster-based films like, The Meg, and King Kong, Planet of the Apes. The gross earnings of the movie is just almost half of movies I mentioned earned.
Let’s see what happened and what went wrong in the movie. To start with, I wanna say, this is a review with spoilers written on every paragraph, so please, read at your own risk.
Lead by the organization named, Monarch, They are the ones who has been taking care of the welfare of monsters inhabiting the earth for years. The film was stitched together with the previous movie. It was focused on how the organization is trying to wake the other titans alive and was trying to convinced the world that monsters can live aside humans.
Dr. Emma, played by Vera Fermiga, one of the Monarch’s finest, who happens to create a device which can communicate to the monsters, she helped a mysterious organization to rise a three headed monster, King Ghidorah, which is later coined, as Monster Zero. Emma thinks that by rising all the titans, she could get the world a balance, and she could get answers for the loss of her son, Andrew but what she have done has perished the humanity to something way out of balance.

In the middle of the movie, Godzilla finds it’s way back as he tried to save the humans from Ghidorah which then was a very strong specie, controlling the other monsters, acting like their alpha.
Godzilla didn’t win in the first fight but was able to seek help from Rodan and the Queen of monsters, Mothra which was able to get his strength back.

Monster Zero and Godzilla fought a battle, which concluded their position among the monsters. After Godzilla was able to kill the Monster Zero, all the monsters who risen from their sleep, kneeled down to him. Godzilla was able to save human race again by proving them that he is on their side of the game.
Ugh!!! I know, it was like, where the hell are the other casts?
Let me just say, this movie doesn’t even need a human to interact with them coz I can assure you, humans acted like pawns only while watching the movie.
Millie Bobbie Brown and Kyle Chandler played as the daughter and husband of Dr. Emma, their side of the story made the movie a little human-related because everything started when Dr. Emma lost her son but if you think about it humans can never get ahold of these monsters by just using the USA Army and other Soldiers available on Earth. These are freaking monsters, for goodness sakes!

It was a big disappointment because the movie was not only too dark but the graphics are not that well-polished. Plus, Godzilla got literally steroid-up, coz if you compare it to the last movie, Godzilla doesn’t look like that.
The movie plot is confusing. I’ve studied enough film and tv production enough to determine what went missing to the movie. The elements of the story were not there. Well, we have seen the climax which was set in the first 10 mins of the movie and then exposition was revealed in the middle which was confusing and then Conflict and climax were set on the almost end of the movie. The first hour of the movie, was your conclusion already, coz you know, you already knew what will happen.
I didn’t like the way the rearranged the story. It looked like they just made up the human interaction just as to save the whole plot. I remembered one of my most favorite movie series which was Transformers. The last entry, Transformers: The Last Knight, disappointed me so much. A more than two hour film that is full of crap. Imagine, I was sleeping in the first hour of the movie and i just woke up when climax was there and it was about to end. Same as in Godzilla, the beginning and the middle part were like scraps of loosen ideas and then I just liked the movie when I saw how Mothra helped Godzilla gained his power and bam! he’s the alpha again.

Kudos to the human casts coz I know it was hard to act in a green screen room filled with nothing, trying to act like there were huge monsters in front of them but all in all, the movie is a total disaster. Trailer was good and was inviting but the movie itself was not, However, I think the movie was a perfect start to fix whatever they can on the next sequel which Godzilla Vs. Kong because these two different species is going to clash. Apes and monsters, it’s hype and exciting. I hope the next movie will not be as boring as this one.
All in all, I stepped out of the cinema asking myself what happened and why there was no connection made in the movie. There was no viewer connection. I haven’t felt that since Transformers’ The Last Knight. We all expected so much from the movie when we saw the trailer that we got just 10% of our expectations correct. The Meg is way more exciting than the Godzilla: King of Monsters. I’ve watched enough monster-related movies and this one doesn’t make the cut.
I give this a 65% wonderroanne rating.
To those who want to watch it, then feel free, the movie might be right for you. We’ll never know if we don’t try! It’s still a good movie to watch if you’re into monsters.
