Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (A Moview)

“Love doesn’t always end well, Beastie.” – Maleficent

Despite My absence from my blog, I wanted to give you a brief review of the recent moves that I watched while I was out of the country and of course, I missed three latest movies of November, so I will be needing a catch up marathon in the weekend.

So let’s get the writing going and we’ll start with Maleficent’s second chapter.

We all know what happened to the first sequel of Maleficent. The usual tale of Sleeping Beauty and how fairies gave her gifts and how Maleficent cursed her when she was still a baby; however the turning point of the story is that Maleficent has grown feelings for the baby girl she cursed and she later on give all her efforts to save her and when the cursed has occurred her true love for Aurora was the one who break the curse itself.

Now, on the Chapter 2, Aurora is about to get married to the prince and his family wants to meet Maleficent who plays as the guardian of Aurora.

The problem is that the mother of Prince Phillip is suspiciously wanting Maleficent to visit them and meet them which later on in the movie revealed why.

Later on, Maleficent discovered another world, a world where she belongs but still chooses the good for Aurora and decided to end up a war against her people and the kingdom.

The movie ended like the usual but what I mean usual, is a happy ending which fairy tales offer as usual.

The Verdict

Well, I knew this will be a good movie especially Angelina Jolie is playing Maleficent and after the success of the first entry of this sequel, there’s a lot more to be expected.

Although I was surprised that they recasted Prince Phillip. Brenton Thwaites was all good as Prince but I think there was some kind of conflict with the actor’s schedule that’s why they replaced him for Harris Dickinson which I don’t complain at all.

Let’s also talk about how Michelle Pfeiffer plays as Queen Ingris and yet another evil queen. I love love love it! She is perfect for the story and she’s elegant for a queen.

At least I have a verdict but this movie has filled my expectations so much that I would recommend everyone to watch it two times.

I liked how they tackle the world where Maleficent is actually considered normal and the way they saved her from a near death situation, that’s teaching us that we may not know each other, but we are all the same creature and we all need saving.

The movie has taught us that love is not only for the family who were born with the same blood but also for the people who took care of you when everyone else were not there for you.

I’m so glad Disney is making live action movies of the stories we have grown with and I love how they teach not only the kids but also the adults so many things.

All in all, I will give this movie, a 90% wonderroanne rating!

Kudos!
