The Verdict

From the book to the movie, I’m pretty amazed. There were changes but it was definitely worth changing. I mean, if you read the book and want to modernise it, then you need to accept that there will be changes.

The movie has a lot of effect in me especially because it’s a story about ladies whom each one of them has different story to tell. I have ready the book version of it and as a fan, I definitely liked how they made it more relateable.

I have some points about the changes they made from the book. Laurie was sick from the beginning of the book and that’s how he met Jo, I thought it was a good plot though. One more thing, they fast forwarded Meg and Mr. Brooke’s story which was elaborated in the book, well I understand the intentions anyway.

In the book, Jo and Mr. Bhaer were good friends and Jo invited him to visit her home which din’t happen in the movie coz before Jo left to take care of Beth, they fought and Jo just left without saying anything and then Mr. Bhaer suddenly went to their place and the rest is history.

Also the ending of the movie was changed compared to the expected ending written in the book too and I would love to leave you hanging for your to read the book and watch the movie.

Little changes but I think it never affect how the movie went because it was good and more than any readers expected.

All in all, I would give this 85% wonderroanne rating.
