To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You (A Moview)

“Sometimes you have to kiss the wrong man to know what’s right” – Stormy

Well, we all know how it went after the moment it closed the first book and movie, Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky played by Lana Candor and Noah Centineo is now enjoying their moments as cute couple. But how about a little complicated stuff? Well, this is where all the letters Lara Jean wrote bounces back to her. Surprisingly, one of the receivers wrote her back. John Ambrose, an old friend and a childhood crush. who do you think she will choose? Well, to those who’ve read the book may know but let’s just sayour readers never have they ever lad their eyes on the book written by Jenny Han.

Lara Jean, with all her worries about being Peter’s girlfriend, a surprise was granted to her when she suddenly received a letter from John Ambrose played by Jordan Fisher, one of the guys she sent her letter to. Technically, it was her younger sister who did that but she never expected that John will reply.

John was her childhood friend and crush who transferred to another school and never got in touch. While Lara decided to volunteer in a shelter for the elderly where she met Stormy played by Holland Taylor. Before she even starts to volunteer, she unexpectedly met John Ambrose who was volunteering too. What are the odds?

With a little overwhelmed for being Peter’s girlfriend, Lara got an escape of her reality while volunteering at the shelter but Lara set a wrong call for being with John Ambrose as she became secretive and she got fond of him so much that she doesn’t even tell him about Peter being her boyfriend.

But in the end, John Ambrose gave way and Peter and Lara Jean got back together in one piece, yeah it was like the normal love story.

So, I’m not done yet, I need to tell you some points which was different fro the movie compare to the book.

Yes. We are still doing this.

Here are some changes made in the movie:

  • Peter was actually a jerk in the book but in the movie, he looked almost like the victim. He doesn’t even confront Lara Jean, like in the book.
  • Their first date was no an Italian Resto, it was a movie with comfort foods.
  • John Ambrose saw Lara in an event before he even receive the letter.
  • The ball was actually USO-themed but in the movie it wasn’t.
  • Stormy is John Ambrose’s grandmother. And yes, John was supposed to just visit his grandma but not volunteer.
  • Where’s Josh? What happened to him?
  • Instead of the lantern, Peter and Lara Jean made a contract in the book.
  • Assassins game had it all out against Lara and Gen. But it wasn’t shown in the movie. It was a good part in the book though
  • In the movie, Lara fell in love with John during a costume party but in the book, she fell in love with him while John holds her in hand while they were in the rain.
  • I heard Jordan fisher actually improvised the whole piano thing because in the book, John Ambrose doesn’t play piano. That’s witty though.
  • Lara and John kissed in a mustang!

Well, the movie was given justice so I’m not complaining at all.

I just love how Jenny Han gets her cameo too.

All in all, the movie is as great as the first one. I’m a giving this movie 90% wonderroanne rating.
