Soon, I will be going back to work but as it was expected, we aren’t sure about the business yet coz most of the business related to tourism is currently struggling.

I have been asked to go on leave with no pay since April 1st which was a bummer coz I needed money to pay bill…well actually, not only me, but everyone needs to pay the bills every month. It was a struggle on how to budget my remaining money on my account. I was thankful enough that I am living with some family members and they are supporting me on food and other necessities.

Staying at home with no paying job for 3 months has somehow changed my perception of the outside world. I saw how the world united and were divided as well because of the pandemic; I saw how the government where I was born has become the talk of the whole world. I also saw how my countrymen deal with just pressure given during this pandemic.

Businesses have suffered too, especially in the food and tourism industry. Restaurants and cinemas are still close. Movie releases were moved and still pending on when to show as there are limited viewers or should I say there won’t be audience who will risk on watching a movie outside.

Every night, I always ask myself the same question, “when is this going to end?” It’s like this pandemic won’t end.

But I believe we have gained more realization compared before. We value small business now more than ever and we seek to help those who are indeed. We learned how not to buy excess stuff and not buy things that we don’t need.

The situation has gone from bad to better coz now the world has started to accept the LGBTQ+ but we are not waving the white flag. We are now facing our new normal; life with protective gears, facemask and gloves.

We won’t be forgetting to wash our hands nor bringing a hand sanitizer with us. We are now going to be extra careful.

This time, we need to take precautions coz we never know.
