Kissing Booth 2: A Moview (Spoiler Alert)

“When we kissed, there was something in there, but you’re not the one.”

Here we go again, booth kissers, another story was out. I guess, Beth Reekles just got us head over heels again this year and make us miss going out so much more.

Ayt! I’m gonna start with a little disclaimer, If anyone who haven’t watched the first installment of this movie, then please watch it. The story is based on the novels written by Beth Reekles, and you should try to hunt copies starting now! This moview is based on my feelings while I watch the movie, so there will be spoilers ahead.

Again, Read at your own risk…

Let’s start with a refresher, Elle and Lee are best friends since they were kids, played by Joey King and Joel Courtney while Noah, played by Jacob Elordi, is Lee’s older hot brother who became later on Elle’s boyfriend (in the first movie). Rachel, played by Meganne Young on the other hand is Lee’s girlfriend. Well, that’s how the first movie got its happy ending, along with the cliffhanger, Noah leaving for college.

Now enters the second installment of the movie. KB2: Going the Distance. Yes, you read it right. The title says it all. Noah is currently studying at Harvard, while Elle and Lee are now stepping in their senior lives; which means, another kissing booth to manage and new kissers to convince.

The movie is set where both Elle and Lee are experiencing the ups and downs of their own relationships; Rachel demanding a quality time with Lee while Noah is being strange and a little secretive making Elle doubt his intentions to make their relationship work long distance.

In the movie, Elle was having doubt with Noah because of this new girl, Chloe, played by Maisie Richardson-Sellers. With everything set for the two of them, Elle kept her doors open by applying to two colleges, one is Berkeley which she and Lee had agreed since they were kids and second, Harvard which she thinks might give her a shot on being with Noah. So which dilemma are you choosing?

Aside from figuring out which college she wanted to get in, she also needs to earn money for college which enters Marco, played by Taylor Perez, a hot-student who is talked-of-the-school, who happens to be the next target kisser of their kissing booth. While being confused with her feelings for Noah, Elle just let it go and enjoyed what she has in her hands until came the revelation where everyone’s relationship got messed up. Enough about that coz I don’t wanna lead you all to a great spoil.

The Verdict

Well, I had so much to say about Taylor, I mean, he is hot! If I’m still in high school and I had to choose between him and Noah, I might get confused and choose him too. Oh well. Beth Reekles’ story was fun, and I think a bit of a change coz in the second book, the guy was named Levi, not Marco but Marco has the umph! in it so, yeah, no complains.

From Elle’s point of view, I know it is hard to trust someone, kudos to that, coz if I were her, I’d be damned and I must commend on how they made the twist in the story. Who would’ve guessed? If you haven’t read the books then you wouldn’t have but still…

Just like the first movie (which I don’t know why I haven’t posted my review) I so liked it and I bet they left again another cliffhanger…which I think it means they might be producing a 3rd installment of the movie series. I don’t know about you all but wouldn’t it be great if we see them all kickin’ in college? College is crazier than high school.

All in all, the story is still moving and I can’t change any of it. I wanted another sequel right now! To all those who have watched it just like me, I know you’ll agree that the movie just defines what high school and college really differs with.

Imma give this 90% wonderroanne rating.

*Update: Kissing Booth 3 is on!!!! Just today(July 27), Netflix has released a 35-second teaser! Guess we will be really looking forward for the 3rd sequel! Yay!
