Work It: A Moview

Netflix has released a new movie recently that caters to all the high school kids out there! The movie is entitled Work It and it’s about a girl who is trying to pass her college interview. The movie lasted an hour and a half most likely and it’s all about giving the nostalgic feeling of Street Dance and Step Up movies.

The movie is focused on how a straight A student, Quinn Ackerman played by Sabrina Carpenter, make changes her college application by

joining the dance group, Thunderbird, lead by Isaah/Julliard played by Keiynan Lonsdale(He played Kid Flash on CW’s The Flash and Ollie in Dance Academy), but later on was never accepted due to the fact that she cannot actually dance. With the help of her best friend, Jasmine played by Liza Koshy, she taught Quinn how to dance and they created a dance group named, TBD (stands for To be Determind)

When the group is finally complete, they are missing one detail and that is the choreographer. Quinn was determined to ask help from Jake Taylor played by Jordan Fisher (Yes, for TATBILB2, Our very own John Ambrose) which was a tough mission for her because Jake stopped dancing for a long time.

The movie is all about how friendships, goals and determination mixes to create success. The movie entails goo example to those kids who focuses only in one thing in life coz, hey, there’s more to lie than what your naked eyes see.

My comments: I just love Jordan Fisher so much and I can’t help but smile while watching him and aside from Keiynan’s dancing skills, I love Jordan’s too. I didn’t know Liza can actually dance, or maybe I just haven’t seen it but yaaas! girl, you worked it! As per Sabrina, I love her and I think she deserves more movies and exposure. I’ve known her from Disney’s Girl Meets World but this movie served the limelight she deserves.

All in all, the movie is in the 90% wonderroanne rating!

Netflix is not new to releasing relatable movies whether it’s for kids, teen/young adult, adults. While we are all trying to survive the pandemic, let’s not forget to enjoy. Cinemas may have closed their doors but online movie platforms like Netflix are still there.
