Gabriel’s Inferno Part II: A Moview

Just last July 31st, the second instalment of the book series-turned-movie, Gabriel’s Inferno, has been released by Passion Flix.

To those who haven’t seen my review for Gabriel’s Inferno, CLICK HERE.

As a refresher for the previous movie, it was about a forbidden love between a professor and a student who’s encounter has been compared to

Dante and Beatrice. Along with this is the conflict on how they first met and the secrets both individuals is keeping. The story in the first movie revolves around how Gabriel discovered that Julia was the angel he met few years ago but for all the wrong reasons, Gabriel thought she was just a dream, while Julia is confused on how to deal with a hot-tempered of a person Gabriel was.

I think the second movie focused more on the first book and how thy actually return into each other’s arms. If you follow the second book, Julia and Gabriel were actually together in the second. So I guess this is actually a part 2 of the Inferno. However, I heard there will be more instalments for this movie series since there will be lots of stories that wasn’t revealed there which were present on the book series.

I hope they make it closer to its books too which is so far is what they have achieved. I loved how even the dialogues were almost the same as written in the novel.

All in all the second instalment was alright, I need to watch more of it. Compare to the 2hr plus, length of the first movie, the hour and a half length of the second one is kinda short considering that there’s more to Gabriel’s desires and Julia’s story. And I must say, I love how they made the confrontation between Julia and Gabriel during the lecture. It was so what I have imagined it to be when I read the book. I’m really glad the director is making it more realistic but still following the full story of the book.

However, I’m still looking for more surprising scene just like in the book.

This will be on a 87% wonderroanne rating.
