Rebecca: A Moview

Netflix have been releasing good movies lately and by good movies, I mean the ones which are best in novels and they make it more extravagant by adapting it into a film which serve some of the books better because who doesn’t want to see their favourite books come to life, right?

The latest one amongst the best is the latest film adaptation of the novel written by Daphne du Maurier on the same title in 1938 which was also adapted by Sir Alfred Hitchcock in 1940. The book/movie is all about the story of a newly wed couple who later on became

distant ever since they started getting haunted by the ex wife’s ghost.

The movie basically started on how the New Mrs. De Winter, played by Lily James and Mr. De Winter played by Armie Hammer met.

Mr. De Winter was still grieving because of the death of his late wife, Rebecca and wanted to just keep himself busy, well, basically that’s how I saw it and then he met the woman that will make her heart beat again…and so we knew. And after that, they got married and decided to go back to his mansion and start a new life with the new Mrs. De Winter. But what the new missus didn’t know is that there’s a darker story behind the previous wife’s death.

The movie is a mystery thriller that if you haven’t read the book, you’ll feel like you are watching a Gillian Flynn or Stephen King book-movie adaptation. It’s a good thing that they made an update of the 1940 movie and gave it a little twist.

The difference between the novel and the movies released were maybe a little obvious but it didn’t affect the film at all. I won’t give any spoilers because the movie is just that great. You need to know what happened for youself.

For those who are wondering what the movie is all about, here’s the trailer!
