By this time, who doesn’t know Nanno? She’s the main character in the most sought after TV Series in 2018 the Girl from Nowhere. Just this 7th of May, Netflix has released its Season 2, following up a two year gap from the 1st season. So let’s talk about more about the TV Series… (Disclaimer: There will be slight Spoilers so beware!)
Who is Nanno?
Nanno is considered as Satan’s daughter, which was according to the character who played the role, Chicha Amatayakul, who’s been answering questions about Nanno lately in her instagram @kittychicha.
Nanno is a mysterious student who always transfers from one school to another to expose different stories like, suicide, cheating, teen pregnancy, bribery, bullying and other stuff that happens inside the school that no individual has a control with unless they are the ones in the authority or involved.
In season 1, we saw how Nanno exposed the system and other teenage problems and the way Nanno deals with those problems is uniquely weird but at the same time works perfectly like my favorite episodes in Season 1 were Episode 2. Apologies, Episode 8. Lost and Found, Episode 12. BFF 1 and lastly, Episode 13. BFF 2. If you have watched all of the Episodes in Season 1 you’ll know what I’m talking about when I say the TV series realtes to every high school moments we had, well, not all of it, but most of it relates to every high school stories I know.
Chicha who is 27 years old, born in Thailand, is actually a great match for the role. Aside from her very young looking face, her aura seems to scream “I’m nice and evil at the same time” kind of vibe. I love her acting, her hair and of course, her iconic laugh.
What Does Season 2 Has To Offer?
After two years, a season installment for the series has been released and this time, stories and issues are more vulgar than the season 1. Same as in the previous episodes, she will still expose school issues and other modernly teenage problems at the same time she teaches them lessons that in the end will either ruin them or make them better.
Too much blood will be shed and another character has blossomed in the name of Yuri, another student who Nanno tried to help but ended up dying although surprisingly, Nanno’s blood brought her back to life.
So now, Yuri is Nanno’s new friend, or is she? Who really is Yuri anyway? What is her role in Nanno’s life? That’s an answer you need to find out by watching Season 2.
Girl from Nowhere is one of the series that should be watched by not only high school students but also teachers because aside from it’s timely and relevant it also has this big effect in the society. If Nanno is actually real, I guess we won’t be facing the same issues we have faced when we were young, isn’t? I think we all have this point in our lives that we try to be the Nanno but we are just scared to stand up for ourselves.
One quirky thing; I love how Nanno just wear uniform all the time like she never changed clothes, she just change uniforms. haha! And the iconic dance, it’s so epic! Now, I’m not even surprised if once the lockdown is over, straight cut and bangs will be in for all school girls.
Anyway, I would recommend for everyone to watch the TV Series. I am giving this 90% wonderroanne rating!
For those who haven’t watched any of it, Season 1 and 2 is now available in Netflix!
