Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins (A Moview)

Have you ever played toys like Batman, Superman, Robin, and the G.I. Joe? Yeah those were like kiddie toys which I’ve known because I have two brothers and yeah, we grew up knowing at least what are those. Not a really big fan but I guess this is like making a comic book turn into life or Toy Story in the real world. but I believe these toys were made during the 1980s and stayed for more years. I remember there were also cartoons made for G.I. Joe.

So what do we know about the G.I. Joe? I know these action figures played by most boys during my time and even earlier. American franchise of toys by the toy company Hasbro, like dolls for boys well, also for girls, Scarlett, was definitely the favourite. Anyhow, just like how books and comics are getting film adaptations, actions figure apparently get the privilege too. There were three movies made before this latest one; The G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra,

The G.I. Joe: Retaliation, G.I. Joe: Ever Vigilant. These were made years and years of gaps, one was 2009, 2013 and 2020 which brings us to the latest one Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins. Like yeah, obviously there must be a story behind the mask and the silencio mode. Snake Eyes is one of the characters which you can’t actually see the face nor hear the words.

Well, I’m not expert but I’ve watched the movies, it’s like Top Gun but modern, or Fast and Furious but less of the fast cars or Mortal Kombat, yeah I think I could compare it to Mortal Kombat instead, yeah?

Oh Well, since this movie is an origin story, so they were able to tell us some pretty dope connections between Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes. The movie started with the young Henry Golding (Snake Eyes) seeing his father being killed by an anonymous group of men which later on he discovered was one of the Cobra. Storm Shadow, or Tommy played by Andrew Kojin was saved by Snake Eyes and became in debt of his life. His clan, the Arashikage taught Snake Eyes how to become a ninja which he later on used for his own good because he was searching for his father’s killer. The movie really taught us what loyalty was, I can say. Well, anyway, long story short, he betrayed the Arashikage Clan.

After an action packed battle, (which I won’t spoil) out of disappointment, Tommy turned back on his family and later on became Storm Shadow and we all know now how did Snake Eyes got his costume. Yeah. That’s about it actually. I cannot spoil much because the movie deserves to be watched without getting spoiled.

I really like how filmmakers are able to make movies out of toys, books, comics and I don’t know, anything under the sun. This movie is one of them, surprisingly but I got to tell you, Snake Eyes movie, is the version or the G.I. Joe entry that I most like. I told you, I like flashbacks but only if they’re timely and relevant.

All in all, I would love to give this and 85% wonderroanne rating, coz, yeah, I cannot compare it completely with Mortal Kombat or Marvel or DC Movies. Yeah, so if you are interested, then you must watch it coz no other toys can be this rewarding to watch and reminisce your playtime days with those G.I. Joe action figures.
