Have you ever thought about doing some cruise and be in the amazon? Well this new movie will give you an idea how it is fairly exciting to have a cruise.
This movie is adapted from Disneyland theme park’s Jungle Cruise – a riverboat ride with an experience of getting near to dangerous and wild animals.
This will be a short moview coz I am not in the position to say so many things about the movie because, yes, I found it a little dreamy
and boring. I had a fair share of watching the movie in a 2-couch theatre, assuming that I would need a soft couch to relax in this movie but no, I was there, watching short vids on my phone and waiting for the time to credits. Is it really that bad? Well, it’s not that bad but as a critic, there’s something off about this movie.
Let’s not say I don’t like it, I love it because Emily Blunt is starring in the movie but the whole concept was just like a comedy version of the early life of people from Tarzan, you know what I mean? (Are we really starting the moview in a straight forward verdict?)
The plot is about Dr. Lily Houghton, played by Emily, together with his brother, McGregor, they planned to explore the Amazon in search for an ancient tree which has a power to heal, which Dr. Lily thinks that it’s an answer to so many medical mystery and a discovery for future use. But this is not an easy task because Lily is in possession of a stone which everyone is trying to claim including the skipper named Frank, played by Dwayne Johnson.
In their journey, they will discover that the legend covering the amazon is real and they will be facing so many adventures along the way.
So what made this movie a little too giddy? Maybe the fault is on me, I expected something serious not a comedy filled movie. I got the humour but I expected that this kind of story has the entity to be in a more serious theme. I know it is based on a theme park but I failed to manage to get the message the movie wants to send the viewers.
Don’t get me wrong but cinematography speaking, yes, it works, flow works, plot works but taking it into whole movie doesn’t. I guess I just got used to watching adventure movies which are far from Jungle Cruise. Although I love how the movie ended and how it concluded the legend and all.
There’s nothing to hate, really just don’t take your expectations into high, coz you will fail to find the “umfh” feeling you need in a movie. Anyway, let’s not make this long, I would love to recommend this movie still, it’s for family too, it’s actually fun to watch especially for kids.
I would give this a 77% wonderroanne rating.
