Cinderella 2021 (A Moview)

Yes, you read the title right. There’s a new Cinderella movie and it is as modern as anyone can imagine it to be. This September 2021, A romantic musical based in the infamous fairytale story that I know everyone is aware of, and in the same title, Cinderella is released in TV Streaming App Amazon Prime Video. After being stuck in the pandemic, our dearest musical lads and lass are about to mesmerize us with another musical film. I guess this is what we deserve at this very moment since we have been seeing online streams of previous musical shows from Broadway and other theatre available and that made us miss watching a live show. This movie is giving us a taste of the dream again!

The casts are jampacked! Starring Camilla Cabello as Cinderella, Nicholas Glatzine as Prince Robert, Idina Menzel as the Evil stepmother, Pierce Brosnan as the King and Minnie Driver as the Queen. Well, this is as modern as it can get coz the Fairy Godmother was played by Billie Porter and one of the rats is James Corden.

And since this is a very modern hip musical, they have covered and reprise songs like Material Girl by Madonna, Perfect by Ed Sheeran, Am I Wrong by Nico & Vinz and so many more. I love how Camilla just shined in this musical and gotta have to commend her voice! Lovely as ever!

This musical is just so modern and the plot story is a bit different too. For the past years, fairytales are mainly about a princess looking for a prince or a prince saving a princess but the 2021 Cinderella is very different. It showed how diverse and equal the director and the writers are coz, the story was Cinderella not only looking for a change but looking for a career that can make her name known, this signifies the equality we have been seeking for a very long time. In this movie, they highlighted the independence of women and the strong will to rule. You’ll see once you watch it and I’m so sure that you’re gonna like it!

I don’t like to make the review very long but this deserves more views and I love how they made gender equality blooms too. This is not the first time that a movie have tried to flip the coin but this is the first fairytale to do so. Mulan and Frozen are a different story but they send the same message to the public!

All in all, I would love to give this musical a 90% wonderroanne rating!
