Escape Room: Tournament of Champions (A Moview)

Okay, so I’m sure you have heard about Cube, Panic Room, Saw 1 – 8 and other survival horror games. Well, last July (Yes I know I’ve watched it that early but failed to write about it coz of my lazy ass and some personal reasons which I promise to tell you guys after I be able to write all the movie reviews that I missed writing for the past few months). Anyway, there’s this new movie that is added up on those movies that I mentioned and it is called the Escape Room: Tournament of Champions.

This is actually the second sequel of Escape Room which was released last 2019. The plot is six people were stuck in a room and have the task to get out, the twist is they need to unveil the tricks/riddles/puzzles and ways to escape the room,

however by doing that they need to know more about each other and to top that, they will discover that most of the puzzles are connected to their real lives. Of course, with their boring lives, who doesn’t want a change, yes? Well, it’s not an easy game to play, I’ve seen better but I love how they use the original plot to create a new sequel. In the new sequel we will meet the other survivors aside from Zoey and Ben who survived in the first movie.

What I have always liked when it comes to movies like this is how characters die. They mostly die in brutal ways and it’s morbid to say but sometimes I enjoy watching horror films more than I do when I watch romcom films. Now in this sequel, Zoey, played by Taylor Russell is one of the tough ones who was in the first sequel originally and now has a clear motive of discovering who is behind the Minos Escape rooms. Zoey is also a survivor and in this movie we clearly see why. The puzzles and other things in the escape room is rather appalling at times coz you’ll get your mind cracking about it and it is kind of hip to get the answers wrong or all your guesses were actually wrong like you thought it was it, right?

Oh and my favorite girl is Of course, Holland Roden who plays Rachel and emo girl who is clearly a pain-tolerant lady in the movie. I love her coz of Teen Wolf, so she is also one of the reason why I watched it.

One thing that I have noticed in the second movie that it is kind of simple and predictable. and the killing of players is not that much of a hit for me which is very bad considering you have to be more cautious in making a sequel like this, like how did the Final Destination series was able to get at least 5 sequel, coz yes, they do lots of morbid and sadistic way possible of killing off characters and even Saw Series got 8 sequels without repeating any scenarios, those are the OGs when it comes to mind-twisting horror/thriller movies.

Don’t get me wrong, I love this movie but not that much like how I love re-watching Final Destination or Cube, I don’t think I’m gonna re-watch this any time soon but, watching it once is enough. All in all, I think I’m gonna give this movie a 85% wonderroanne rating.

But let me end this article by asking you guys, is there an Escape Room 3 coming soon? I mean, we need to know more about Claire, clearly she has a story to tell. right? Who is Claire? It’s for you to find out.
