I know this is a little bit late after all those trends about this latest Korean TV series by Netflix entitle All Of Us Are Dead. This is more famous than Squid Game, people! And I think that I have never seen an apocalypse becomes this hit. Well, Korean Dramas have been out in there for so many years and I think that they are always ahead of the game when it comes to dramas, they’re like next to USA but now, it seems like they are getting way better than the US-based TV Series. Even US had adapted few of their TV series, The Good Doctor to name one.
If you noticed, as the years pass by, movies are becoming more and more close to whatever is happening in the world. Example of these were catastrophic/disaster movies like The Day After Tomorrow, Contagion, 2012, Into The Storm, Geostorm, San Andreas, and The Core; these are the OGs when it comes to making viewers realize about the disaster that could happen if we don’t take care of the nature. I grew up watching documentaries about global warming, and the destruction of the ozone layer which I think is just two of the many problems that the earth is experiencing. And since the pandemic (Covid19) had spread, many documentaries about it had been released and some other fiction movies about widespread epidemic and apocalypse has been surfacing in the movie world. US was the first who made apocalypse be known and even the possibilities of other creatures living among us and the famous amongst all those creatures are the zombies (these are people who died and came back to life). US had made a successful show about it, The Walking Dead and they followed it with iZombie, Z-Nation, Warm Bodies, and Zombieland…but the Koreans were the ones who made it more true to life as they start to invest on creating Zombie TV Series and movies, one of those who really hot the blockbuster was Train to Busan, Alive and then followed by so many TV series but one that took the limelight was The Kingdom, it currently has two seasons and one movie prequel. This 2022, the Korean TV Production has yet again amazed everyone after the released of All Of Us Are Dead.
The Plot
This is a new K-Drama Series that was released by Netflix last month and it had millions of views after its released. The plot is all about a widespread unknown virus that was man-made. It started when a student from Hyosan High School was bitten by a rat infected by the virus. She was first detained by the Science teacher but failed when the girl escaped and bitten other people in the school. The virus spreads through a bite and has the ability to mutate as fast as a minute or in can stay in your body without you knowing it until your body starts to crave blood. Many students were in the High School so the spread was really fast. There were few students who were able to catch up and get ahold of the situation by hiding into empty rooms. The Zombies are blind, they can only hear and smell so students had to keep their chill and be silent at any cost. All through out the series, they kept losing classmates and teachers, until the virus had spread in the town as well, affecting many residence and making the local government impose a quarantine and lockdown. But the tricky part was there were mutations of the virus where the zombies were asymptomatic and immortal. In the end, the government had to make the hardest decision of killing all the zombies by explosives to erase the entire population of zombies spreading int eh small part of their city.
The Verdict
I finished watching this series the same day it was released. I made sure that I will be able to watch it and enjoy it before every one else but I got lazy to write about it coz every one has been talking about it non-stop and I think that if I write something about it, my movies will just be like an ordinary article that tackles about the latest trend which I’m not actually portraying in all my moviews. So, yes, after a month, I decided to write my review. The Series was an eye opener. I liked how they pushed on doing the plot setting in the most modern setting possible. We’ve watched Kingdom, which is the OG of all the zombie movies and TV Series, setting the standards when it comes to creating zombie-themed shows really high.
The funniest thing that I experienced while watching AOUAD is when characters were just in there, standing like a statue while a zombie comes towards them, like “Why? Just f*@#^* run!!!” The suspense is really there especially when some of the zombies were still alive and seems so immortal and the irate that I felt whenever this certain character is really getting in my nerves. Just some people are really awful, right?
And also, I like Su-Hyeok, he is like a character from a manga. ha!❤️

The Theories
All in all, I liked this TV Series and I’m sure that there will be season two. Anyway, I chose to make this movie a little short because I know we all watched it and I can feel that whatever my brain cannot tell you, you already understand. ha! But will talk about something else. I have some theories in this TV series that I’m sure you want to talk about it also.
- I wonder what happened to the baby that was saved from the city? The one with a teenage mother. Why won’t we talk about how they just ignored the fact that there’s teenage pregnancy there and like they just forgot to continue that story?
- Gwi-nam and the other lady whom I forgot the name, the one they bullied, they’re like a new mutation of the virus but what we know so far is that Nam-ra is also like them, they’re basically immortals and how fun to know that there’s a possibility that they could have other powers than immortality, after all, the scientist said that the virus is actually reaction a person’s attitude, well, that’s what he thought during the phase when his sun was turning slowly.
- Nam-ra is probably the new leader of all the Humbies (Half Human, half zombies), she told them that there are many hubbies like her who were able to hide during the explosions, I think it will create some division in the Human and Zombie world. Is there a possibility or a sequel where they focus on the lives of the Humbies? I hope so.
- Cheong-san, the mighty hero, I know that we have seen him get burnt into ashes during the explosion but don’t you think it is too easy to kill off Cheong-san after everything he survived from in the whole series? Would it be possible if Gwi-nam became the zombie shield as they fall on the pit? That means, Gwi-nam is dead and there’s a possibility that Cheong-san, luckily gained enough power to escape the whole thing.
- So what happens to the people of Hyosan? Would they be able to go back into their lives or they will basically get refuge from other cities and they will completely leave Hyosan, and then that’s the start of the Humbles taking over the whole Hyosan and they will make Hyosan their territory?
- There’s a possibility that the Hysona population will stay and live with the humbies, and I think the politician lady will create a new government in Hyosan. Is that too much to ask?
- I wonder if they will be able to make an antidote since they’re still keeping the two OG zombies that was made by the scientist, his wife and son.
- And who in the zombie land decided to keep the two zombies? Is this a way of the government to create a massive scare or maybe they will use them to create weapons?
- The love story of Cheong-san and On-jo, if Cheong is alive, then would On-jo accept him as a humbie? I wonder how they will be able to reunite this time.
- What happens to the Commander in Chief who killed himself? I think there’s more story to that. Probably, there’s a political way to add some conflicts in it too. Could the family or the government itself.
Well, those are just some of my theories and I think you’ll agree with me too. The series is just so cool that I had to watch it twice. I seriously had fun watching and getting the suspense feeling of it. I will definitely give this a 90% wonderroanne rating.
For those who haven’t watched, you can watch it on Netflix.
