When they say it’s a Tom Cruise movie, of course we all know a good TC movie, it will definitely involve high-end stunts that is surely done by Tom Cruise himself, care to know which of the movies he did? Well, most especially the extraordinary ones in Mission Impossible movies series. Don’t get me wrong, TC is like a legend like Liam Neeson and I’d vouch for him at all times. It’s like rooting for Keanu Reeves for all the sci-fi movies. Yes, a bias fan right there.

Anyway, last May 2022, directed by Joseph Kosinski, who is widely know for his work, Tron Legacy and Oblivion, released a new movie for Top Gun series, following the 1986 movie, Top Gun: Maverick is the most recent movie after more than 36 years. Which definitely suits the pride of the previous Top Gun movie.

The story is about Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, played by Tom Cruise, who in after 30 years is about to teach some fine newly graduates and these batch are not like any other batch but a special one because amongst the best is LTJG Goose’s son, Lt. Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw. Goose was Maverick’s wingman, which death’s still haunts Maverick up to this day and so was his son. Maverick is tasked to teach an awfully difficult task within a month of preparation. The Navy had chosen him because of his talent and skills and so he needs to guide everyone to their finish goal.

I know there’s so much to say aside form introducing a simple plot but I think this movie deserves no introduction anymore, it deserves to be watched and I guess that’s what my readers need to do. I’ve seen the previous Top Gun movie and to compare it to this one is kinda nostalgic, well of course if you were a fan you’ll see some similarities especially why Top Gun is the hotshot amongst the movies with similar plots. I loved how they managed to put up some story for TC to work on and to prove them that Maverick is the THE Maverick and well, it’s just surreal. Not to mention how obviously Tom Cruise didn’t seem to age at all. C’mon, as if this moview is all about the technicals, we obviously know that it is not coz this is all about how hot Tom Cruise still is and how the new ones are smoking, really.

I’d like to have Miles Teller to have this moment coz really, it is his. He is packed! From Divergent Series, to all the movies that he starred even before that, I think Miles have grown so much as an actor, not just is chiseled abs, but yes, I think his acting is still remarkable. Remember how we hated him in Divergent? You’ll gonna love him more in this movie. There’s so much things going on in the movie, however, they actually made it possible to focus on him and Tom Cruise at the same time plus the hot pilots too.

I love how smoothly they made it possible for top gun to have a possible sequel. I’m sure even without Maverick, Rooster deserves a sequel movie of his own because why not? Plus I wanna see more of Hangman too.

All in all, this is definitely a must watch movie and I think this deserves so much credits too. I’m definitely gonna give this a 95% wonderroanne rating.
