THOR: Love & Thunder (Spoiler Alert)

Let’s talk about Thor, God of Thunder and one of the Avengers but where is he now? I know it is rather a question what happened during his stay with the Guardians of Galaxy, well, this movie is the answer to your question. The latest installment of Marvel for Thor’s story is rather a comic-feel movie rather than a movie which can give you clues for the MCU as a matter of fact, This can be watched by its own.

This review has a positive spoilers about the entire movie, so if you are not a fan of spoilers, then bookmark this site and read it later after you watch the movie.

The movie is all about Gorr, the God Butcher who in the beginning was not a butcher at all, he was denied of a miracle that he believed was coming from the gods whom he has been worshipping for all his life but yes, there’s no such god who heard his cry and so yes, he slayed all the gods until he finally reached the Asgardians and so he met Thor whom he plans to kill or so they say, butcher. However, under circumstantial events, Thor was quite late and he was surprised when he saw the mighty lady Thor, or should I say Jane and I think that is not a surprised because she’s been in the poster and everything so, you do the math. Anyway, Gorr is somehow very strong and was able tot capture all the Asgardian kids and kept them kidnapped. With the help of Jane, Thor was able to follow the kids and Gorr, but of course I won’t spoil so much so you will need to watch it.

This is a very short review, it’s not that I don’t like it but I believe this 4th sequel is just too much. I mean, I can never believe how Marvel actually made the movie a comedy movie only few minutes in total you’ll get some serious scenes in the film and so it felt like they are aiming to make the viewers laugh. After all, Thor is the least favorite of most of everyone among all the Marvel Avengers movie and I think they kind of justify why don’t like it that much.

All I can say is that, they actually made the story interesting when they finally introduced Zeus, who is considered the most powerful but then again, power is just power and yeah, he was defeated by Tho himself. The camera for the Guardians was also a hit but not too much; since they are trying to make the film funny as it can get, well, yes, having the Guardians can actually help.

My verdict is simple, this is not the Marvel movie that I expected but of course, we don’t deal on seriousness here especially if the movie tends to be funny although some are dad jokes too. I love how they’ve shown the transformation for Thor coz the last time we saw him, he went to space with his dad-bod. If you like comedy, I think you’ll like this but if you are like me, getting technicals when it comes to comics and other stuff, I don’t think this will even surpass those Marvel movies that were released before, I mean, I’d rather have a serious Thor that this 90% comedy that we had experienced. I’ve been laughing during the entire movie because I enjoyed so many parts of it especially the goats which cries as if it was Kevin Hart.

All in all, I liked it, the plot is good but it’s just not clinging into my liking, just like any other movies lately. Although I love how they actually showed us all these gods and superhero stories which I believe is very entering, actually they can tackle more about this which is why I think they kind of gave us an idea that Zeus’ son Hercules will join the MCU soon. This I give 75% wonderroanne rating because of the genre, it is confusing and like it doesn’t connect from any of the past movies. It could been fun if it was Deadpool or Shazam but it’s Thor and he is a god.

P.S. The movie looked like a parody version of most movies that we knew from 1999. But I love the credit scene coz you’ll know why it is love & thunder. 🤭

Update: The child who played Love is Chris Hemsworth’s daughter in real life. So this is definitely a father-daughter watch.
