Emergency Declaration (A Moview)

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Are we missing movies like Train to Busan, or The Kingdom or maybe the recent All of Us are Dead? Well, this new movie that was released last month is definitely one that will tickle your suspense nerve yet again. Directed by Han Jae-Rim, this one captures events based on aviation disaster which can caused the airline to call Emergency Declaration. This means the plane demands an emergency landing due to high-risk situation it maybe an event of high-jacking or something that can harm the people inside the plane.

The movie started with a viral video that is getting leaked and a person in the video is threatening

someone of terrorism and this has spread like pandemic, however, the investigators were a little too late to realized that the video is in fact a terrorist threat and that the suspect is already boarding the plane to Hawaii. The threat is not a simple terrorism threat, rather with was a bioterrorism threat. Detective In-Ho is leading the investigation only to find out that his wife is boarded with the terrorist in Hawaii flight KI501.

Disarray and mayhem spreads like wildfire when one healthy passenger died all of a sudden in-flight and people in the plane were taking videos of whatever is happening inside the plane, hoping that people in the ground will be able to know whatever is the situation is. The chaos has involved the government immediately when the Transport Minister ordered an emergency meeting to assign an official terrorism Taskforce to save the people in the plane. The story had spread around the world and while the people on the ground are trying to figure something that they can do, the unknown cause has spread inside the plane because of the air and the food they ate many people fell ill and some of the crews including one of the pilots died too. When they find out who the terrorist was, it was all too late because he also have died of the chemicals that has been lingering inside the plane.

One of the passenger is a former pilot with a daughter who has eczema and hoped that he would be able to have his daughter get some help that’s why they flew to Hawaii for a cure however, the incident had planned otherwise. With only one pilot, the KI501 needs someone who can navigate the plane because the remaining pilot feels ill too. Deciding on where to land, with emergency declaration that has been declared to all airports, they now need to emergency land in a nearby country which they failed to do so because of the possible scare that they will make towards the foreign countries. The plane decided to fly back to South Korea, however, even their countrymen had protested not to let them land because of the danger that the chemicals inside the plane can bring in the country once they land.

The only answer that they hope for is an antidote that will help them be saved of the chemical however the possibility of it tow work is still minimal and the government needs to decide fast because the plane is actually running out of gas.

The Verdict

It’s actually promising. It maybe not as haywire as the zombie movies that we have watched before but this bioterrorism is one chaos on its own. I love how there’s so many sides involved in the movie. It’s not just the plane but even the countries and the people in the ground were actually in the story. This is one of the sign that the story is really detailed and accurate. They have studied the possible causes and effect of each move that the characters will make in the movie because every move has its consequences and we also see in the movie how can people act as one and we even saw people who will literally make your life difficult in the middle of life threatening situations. I’m talking about how protesters and other people who think they don’t have to deal with the passengers at all. This is how in reality, other people think, there are people who will be empathetic and there will be people who won’t care if you die s long as they don’t.

The movie has given us an idea of how it is to have a bioterrorism and how can it affect people and even countries, emotionally, physically and even politically. I love how the movie just tested the real-time problems and it is obvious that it can happen and it will be possible, The movie is somehow educational.

The ending has some kind of alternate reality and I think it was a fair ending to me.

I am giving this movie an 89% Wonderroanne rating because of the fact that the plot is like no any other movie. Like the usual, Koreans are really ahead of us and I love how the industry is actually accepting Korean movies more like the US Films. They become one of the best in the mainstreams too.

I would definitely recommend this movie because of it’s educational purposes.
