Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

Rating: 3 out of 5.

And yet another murder mystery or is it really? Netflix has released a new movie starring Daniel Craig and it’s actually going to make a fool out of your minds, or is it really? We may never know, coz I think this one is a love and hate kind of movie. We obviously know that there are so many murder mystery movies that has been released throughout the years and some of them are actually adapted from books. Glass Onion is actually a sequel of Daniel Craig’s Knives Out Movie last 2019.

The story is about a luxury getaway arranged by a tech mogul, Miles Bron, who invited his friends whom he thinks has a hidden grudge on him and has set a game solving of his own murder. But here’s the catch, no one knows that someone invited Detective Benoit, including the invitee himself. The story revolves on trying to figure out who wants Miles dead and how did the movie end of on one of them, but not Miles being dead, or maybe, not even one, there could be more.

Hiding in plain sight, all of them should figure out who wants to kill who and who has an ace to begin with. The whole film was actually a film full of questions at first but ended up answered as we go along the movie. They’re maybe a little comedy but surely this is some kind of murder mystery. It’s not predictable. You cannot actually tell who’s the suspect unless you see all the clues that Benoit has been finding out in the movie.

I admit that I never enjoyed the Knives Out movie but this one I think is quite better than the first one. However, both movies could’ve been pushed to do more. Like viewers needed more substance, it’s like this movie was actually made for kids, not for adults. It was comic but not in a good way.

All in all, the mystery itself is enjoyable coz as I have said, it is not predictable; you won’t know what happens next. I will give this 85% wonderroanne rating. I’d bet for the mystery and answers, plus the ending. I hope there will be a sequel for this as a redemption.
