And yes, after a year of waiting, we are here now watching the new season of Singles Inferno. It’s a Korean dating reality show which they isolate players in a remote island to be able to meet someone they can connect with. I actually have written a review of the series last year. Click Here
The show was all the same as the first season, same mechanics: They need to choose someone they like to date despite of not knowing their status in life and what their jobs are and if that person chooses them back then they will have a chance to be in the Paradise; a place where they will be able to ask everything that they want, including the age, job and anything under their curiosity. As long as they are in Paradise they will be able to ask away. And of course, the food, most of them actually looks forward with the food they will be able to eat more than their dates.
Like the usual, we will talk about the casts that made it to my top list, the noticeable list.
- Shin Seul-ki – She is actually the most popular of all the girls and I think she is quite the girl-crush coz from the very start, boys were actually gushing about her. However, she played it under her hands and she actually made it to a point that she will choose whoever will make her heart flutter.
- Choi Jong-woo – I call him Se-hoon’s brother because his decision to pursue Seul-ki all throughout the show was really as if I was watching Se-hoon all over again. He never ever laid eyes on any ladies. He was just there sitting, waiting for Seul-ki to give him the attention that he deserves. Of course, in the process he was rally having a hard time especially when competing to someone who has been making Seul-ki’s heart flutter and gives her butterflies in her stomach.
- Lee So-e – This is the girl version of Se-hoon. Like I don’t want to even spoil everything but she definitely showed how strong she was and how capable she is despite of getting the rejection she doesn’t deserve and her comeback was actually an amazing moment in the show, not only the fans but also the hosts of the show knew that she needed a retribution after a series of rejection. Watching So-e is like watching someone getting stabbed all over and still try to stand-up.
- Park Se-jeong – hottest of them all, like I don’t even know why no one ever chose her. She was the only one who wasn’t able to get into Paradise and yet she is the most interesting one. I think she deserves to be part of another group because it felt like the guys were actually intimidated by her.
- Jo Yoong-jae – The guy who actually broke So-e’s heart but not intentionally. He actually likes another girl and he was so sure of that however, he doesn’t know how to respond to So-e’s actions which made a little of jerk but obviously we cannot just blame him, coz he really likes someone else.
- Choi Seo-eun – The most bubbly of them all, I like her and I think she is more capable of handling herself and she really knows what she wants as well. And I think that’s what made it work for her and Yoong-jae. They know that they both like each other and whatever it is, they will choose each other all over again.
- Lee Nadine – She’s my favorite. I feel like I met her for somewhere. Her face looks really familiar and I think she is the most unforgettable person in this season because she is a medicine student from Harvard University. She is really something, yeah? She actually didn’t end up with anyone in this season which is actually sad. Was actually expecting her to go after someone who matches her career path.
- Kim Han-bin – this guy looks so much alike the famous actor Nam-Joohyuk. First glance, you know it, you will see Joe-hyuk and even when he smiles. He liked Seo-un but I think he matches someone who isn’t in the show, in short, he deserves someone else.
- Shin Dong-woo – He is actually the guy I was expecting Lee Nadine to end up with. Well, aside from they’re both tall, they actually have similarities when it comes to their careers of choice. He is a cosmetic surgeon and so that means something, right? However, he is actually way older than Lee Nadine so I think there will be such huge difference when it comes to goals and opinions.
- Kim Jin-young – The crush next door. Everyone was actually mesmerized by his charm. from the moment he step his foot in inferno, the girls wanted to rip his shirt off and they were actually trying to get his attention as much as possible however, he was so playful that even viewers won’t guess his next move. He was actually interested with Seul-ki but he was giving her mixed signals which is a very big red flag for a lady. I cannot blame Seul-ki for thinking twice to choose him.
- Lim Min-su – Her eyes are all focused on Jin-young only which actually I didn’t like because she didn’t give a chance to meet the other guys in Inferno. She just went straight for Jin-youing and him alone. I mean, it was supposed to be a getting to know each other, not only one person. She could’ve matched with someone else if only she opened her heart to meeting everyone else than focusing on one who doesn’t even bother to give you any attention.
- Kim Se-jun – I call him the savior. I loved how he was so mysterious at first and then he actually appreciates little things. Especially with So-e. He was the one who appreciated So-e the most and I think he definitely was trying to make So-e feel loved without telling her to choose him. He managed to create a path to So-e’s heart by trying to gentle to So-e because yes, So-e was actually a ticking time bomb. But yes, they both end up together.
This season was a little boring, maybe because we all know what will happen and like the cast went to someone and wanted to know one person only. Not all of them had gone and tried to get to know everyone. They actually just went there, tried to get some points to be able to go to Paradise and get a meal with the person they like. It was more different than the first one, season 1 was more raw than this one. I felt like it was a little bit scripted and I think they should change some of its game or mechanics. I mean, new season should have something more than that.
P.S. This season was actually an emotional one. I think everyone got so emotional with whom Seul-ki chose because it was really a good game. Like while watching you will feel that he already lost but with his determination, just like in the first season with Se-hoon, going for it and focusing on it will actually give you good results. This might be the most emotional season among the two.
All in all, I will give this a 85% wonderroanne rating. I enjoy the first season more than this one. Especially the cast. they were more interesting than the ones we have this season.
