When we think we saw everything, not yet. There’s so many things we have to discover in the rich world, in the Rich Asian world. Yes, I’m talking about those crazy rich asians that cannot just afford a Balenziaga or Dior or LV bags and products but also if they wanted to, they can buy the whole store. I’ve talked about them for many times already, you’ve seen a couple of my reviews on shows about them and I thought it was enough, well, I was wrong, we can squeeze some drama a little more and divas will just come running out. I think some of you knows what I’m actually talking about. It is the reality TV show Bling Empire. Where you can watch how rich asians in Los Angeles live their every day lives and how they actually mingle with their friends. I did a review of the previous season of BE and you can read it HERE.

This time, Netflix has gone to the Empire State of Mind, New York to witness the world of rich asians in the other side of the country. This isn’t your typical reality TV show where they just film what happens every day but it shows more than anything we deserve, the drama and the other things.

Just like the previous seasons, there’s gonna be a rivalry, and friendship that will happen. As a result of all those dramas, of course, I wanted to express my first impressions with all the cast of this show, coz why not? Since this is the first season of the BE: NY, then I guess there’s no other way to tell the experience of watching them than to write about what I think of each one of them. I promise that I won’t spoil too much but yes, this is also a disclaimer.

So this are the new people in the rich world of New York.

1. Dorothy Wang – She basically lived in Beverly Hills before and was actually in the previous episodes of the OG Bling Empire. She had a clash with BE: LA cast Kane as yes, it was full of drama and they both hate each other. You gotta watch the other Bling Empire shows to be able to know what I’m talking about right now. Her father is a self-made billionaire and I’m actually not sure what she’s doing aside from posting blogs of her travel and other experiences. But when it comes to her attitude, she’s more like a spoiled brat that needs to go out more in the real world to know that she’s not the only one around. However, when it comes to her friends, I think she is the sweetest.
2. Tina Leung – She is one of my favorites in this show coz apart from she is fashionable, she is actually the counterpart of Kevin in the OG BE. Coz she may have come from a wealthy family but she definitely did not use her parents influence in order to be in her shoes right now, so basically she is not rich because of her parents, she is rich because she worked hard for it. If she stopped working, she won’t have a food in her plate and I think Tina just resembles the life that simple workers have; we work everyday, we try our best not to breakdown and some days are just too much for us. I love her so much coz aside from she looks really young for her age, she’s smart and confident and I think that’s the reason why Fashion brands and magazines just love working with her. Yes, she is a fashion blogger.
3. Blake Abbie – family’s net worth is like millions so definitely considered crazy rich and he is actually an editor for fashion magazine. He is one of the casts who are a supporter on everything, like he’s always there to support everyone on everything that they do. The first impression that I have about him is that he can be a sweetheart and despite of the differences all of his friends have, he tries to help them reconnect. I love him, he’s a sweet angel.
4. Lynn Ban – famous with her jewelry designs and had worked with famous celebrities, creating custom-made jewelries. She is one hell of an Alpha. they call her the mother of the group. Aside from she is so modern and hip, she is actually very motherly with her opinions on everything and I guess in every group we have that one person that can actually give some good advices.
5. Stephen Hung – I think he is the wealthiest of them all coz he can buy very expensive things for his wife and I think he really likes to spoil his partner. Although I didn’t see much of him in the show but he is definitely one crazy rich asian.
6. Deborah Valdez-Hung – Now this is where the drama goes in. First episode was like bam! Aside from getting pissed off with Dorothy’s actions, she’s definitely one hell of a diva as well. And a clash between Dorothy and her was like a very expensive cat fight that no one else wanted to watch. She is the wife of Stephen Hung and yes, she is like the counterpart of Christine in the OG BE. She definitely knows how to work with her money and what to spend them in. However, she’s not a nice party host, like Dorothy said, who goes in an extravagant party with no food and then the host will go exit her party just to have dinner on her own. That was actually funny. And Kane and her, just made an addition to Dorothy haters. Kane just makes everything worse.
7. Vika – Sweet sweet lady who actually is the girlfriend of Richard Chang. In the show they think she is always behind her boyfriend which was actually true but later on we discovered that she can do things without him and his permission and she is hell of a true confident and self-affiliated person. like she doesn’t have to be behind someone’s ass just to be known. She is a goddess herself, without a partner even.
8. Lam Naks – a Thai rich girl who is still studying for her master in New York and still leaning on father’s wealth to live. Now she has to decide whether she stays in NY and get cut off of her father’s wealth and basically have to work her ass to get by every day or get back to Thailand and lived there permanently where she still have everything that she has now. She loves NY but I think she is definitely not ready to live on her own because she is breathing money, money and money like she can’t even have her own apartment coz she doesn’t know how to cook, laundry and do simple things. She’s a princess. She lives in a 5 star hotel just to get dishes done by housekeeping and have room service anytime she wants.
9. Richard Chang – I think he is the counterpart of Kane in this show like not like rich as Kane but they definitely have the same attitude and they just make things awkward. Like Dorothy actually told him that he is a user, he actually asked Dorothy to donate and to do things for him. He kept asking but he never gave them anything. Like the instance that he kept talking about how Dorothy and Tina should go to the wellness center to be able to post about because their audience can actually discover his work place and use it as a marketing opportunity. He basically wants to use the influence if the rich people around him to be able to go to the top and he is very controlling with his girlfriend, so I don’t think he’s actually the person the show thinks he is. There’s something lying under that skin that screams USER for me. although helping and appreciating his mother’s battle against cancer is sweet, he is still using that to create something out of it. Maybe he is just a full-time marketer as he is right now, we never know.

The whole series was full of a normal events that even with normal people, things like these happens and I think this show is kind of better than the OG one coz the people are more raw compare to the original Bling Empire. Coz that show actually is trying to portray a show that is full of drama that it can actually be too much for the viewers but this one is a very light one and it felt like it needed more episodes coz 8 episodes doesn’t really make the cut. I hope they will have another season soon coz why not? And also I’m kinda wondering how it is if both Bling Empire LA and NY will be in one screen. yes? yes!

All in all, the show is fantastic, I’d give this a 90% wonderroanne rating! love to see more!
