Well, here we are again, after three months of waiting, there’s that, we now have the conclusion for our The Glory Moview. I have written review for the part 1 which was released last December, you can read that for you read this article, to just have an introduction of what we are actually talking about. Click here.
Did you finish reading my review and watching the part 1? Then let’s go talk about the part 2. Again, this will be a disclaimer because we will actually talk about the theories and the results of the events so, if you haven’t read or watch, better do so. I won’t apologize for spoiling on my reviews coz, I have you warned. LOL
So we were left in the part where Dong-eun played by Song Hye-kyo was able to reveal things that Yeon-jin did in the past with Yeon-jin’s husband Ha Do-yeong and yes, In the second part, we saw what really happened to Myeong-o. He was killed by Yeon-jin. All the revelations were bound to happen in the second part because Dong-eun was ready for her battles. Here are the highlights of the Part 2 of the series:
- Ha Do-yeong discovering that his wife is having an affair and his daughter might not be his daughter. There’s so many evidence that Jae-jun was the father, in the last episodes of the part 1, he was so interested in visiting the kid, Ye-sol, especially when he discovered that she might his because of her color blindness. Do-yeong investigated more and with the tip from Dong-eun, he was able to put every puzzle and come out with an answer for himself.
- Yeo-jeong’s existence is very important. Aside from being Dong-eun’s executor, he made it possible to become one of the most important person in her life. Viewers may have been questioning his connection with Dong-eun but his entire existence is actually what connects Dong-eun’s plans. Yeo-jeong’s family is the owner of the hospital where So-hee was frozen and not only that, because of his parents, So-hee’s body remained to be frozen and that made him the main asset on this story, coz he holds the biggest bullet that Dong-eun have. Dong-eun initially tried to asked him for help as well but certainly didn’t do so because she doesn’t want ton include her with any of her plans but fate has turned their story together as partners in life and revenge.
- Yeon-jin’s plans slowly fails. Other than having Dong-eun’s side kick spill her some tea and making Dong-eun’s mother to ruin her life, there’s nothing she have against anyone at this point. Dong-eun managed to send off Hyena-nam abroad to study. Dong-eun’s plans to slowly make Yeon-jin’s life a bit more painful to live on is actually happening. With her mother slowly being blackmailed of what happened years ago, she is now trying to fix thing that seemed to become unfixable especially now that the police that they tried to pay off is starting to lose ends, they are both in the edge of not knowing what to do. They even tried to getaway from killing the blackmailer and even Yeon-jin tried to find So-hee’s body. Too bad that with Yeo-jeong’s money, he was able to buy the morgue where they were hiding the body, and yes, Yeon-jin even tried to trespass and that is where she discovered that Yeo-jeong has some connection with Dong-eun.
- Friends became enemies. All the bullies, Yeon-jin’s friends, turned into each other. They try to save themselves from Dong-eun’s wrath, however, at this point of time, Dong-eun is suck twiddling her thumbs to make everything she planned happen. Sa-ra got caught being high and masturbating in front of a cross, just made her family be the talk of the town. Myeong-o’s body was found and Yeon-jin’s DNA is in it. During Myeong-o’s funeral, they tried to come together to plan on taking down Dong-eun but they slowly turn their back on each other because of so many discrepancies in their side of the story. Hye-jeong, blackmailing Jae-jun, having Myeong-o’s recording of the night when he was killed and some other videos too. Sa-ra getting pissed off with Hye-jeong because she has a video of her having oral sex with Myeong-o, she stabbed her on the neck with a pencil and yes, she will rot in jail because of so many reasons, including a tax evasion case by her father. Hye-jeong no longer be able to speak her truth because her vocal chords were messed up. At this point, it is clear to Jae-jun that Ye-sol is his daughter and he is still trying to make Yeon-jin leave Do-yeong to choose him and live as a family but that won’t happen coz Hye-jeong, switched his eye drops into a substance given by Dong-eun that will cause him blindness. Since Hye-jeong wanted revenge of her own, she did and Jae-jun ended up in a construction site and fell into a pond of cement because someone pushed him to his death, who did? Well, let’s ask Do-yeong.
- Yeon-jin and her mother ended up in jail. After the accident, killing Hyena-nam’s husband, Yeon-jin’s mother cannot get away with it and so she tried to bribe Hyena-nam which was later discovered by the investigators and then, Yeon-jin’s DNA was discovered in Myeong-o’s body, causing her to be in jail. The saddest part of the movie is she did end up in jail and she then finally learned how to write her own script. She became mentally problematic at that moment.
- Do-yeong and Ye-sol just lived their lives with no regrets. With no Yeon-jin, no Jae-jun, Do-yeong got his happy ending by leaving the country with her daughter. She continued to believe that Ye-sol is his daughter and that is how they end up for them.
- Dong-eun’s mother finally got what she deserved. Okay, this was actually my favorite. Aside from I was pretty pissed off with her mother being the side antagonist in the story, I kept remembering the lines she said, “Blood is always thicker than water.” And then Dong-eun used that on her, she signed her into a psychiatric facility, coz yes, Dong-eun can do that because she is the only family she had. Right? What a twist! I loved it.
- After all the revenge, Dong-eun tries to kill herself. With nothing planned after, Dong-eun just know that she needed to finally rest from everything. After all the years she faced, planning everything and even collecting evidences, she was all of it. However, the ending part is what she didn’t plan to even live with. What happens after the revenge? Obviously, her answer was to lay herself rest too. But thanks to Yeo-jeong’s mother, she didn’t. She stopped her form jumping off the building and told her that she had changed Yeo-jeong’s life and if she dies, she will lose her son too.
- The landlady and the investigator. `This part touched my heart so much because it made me realized that the people we meet can actually changed our lives. The landlady was saved by Dong-eun when they both try to drown themselves, but Dong-eun didn’t know it until the end of the series. Yeo-jeong discovered that too after the landlady told her story. The investigator, for 18 years have kept the case closed because there were no evidences but when it was finally opened and he actually noticed that all the crimes committed were connected to Dong-eun, he finally realized that Dong-eun was the kid who called him with regards to So-hee’s case 18 years ago, I literally cried when he said, “I was late for 18 years.” like, yes, yes, it was a moment.
- Ending Explained. Dong-eun got her revenge. Everyone is either in jail or ended up leaving or much worst, dead. So she got nothing to do but to finally be Yeo-jeong’s executor because it’s for him to finally seek revenge for his father’s death. (Yeo-jeong’s father was killed by a prisoner whom he treated.) They both applied to work in the jail where the killer was detained. They managed to do so because of the connections they were able to gain. Dong-eun as a teacher and Yeo-jeong as a physician. In the ending, they enter the jail as a couple and finally, for the first time, Yeo-jeong is standing face to face with the person who killed his father.
My question: Is there a second season? The season where they will focus on Yeo-jeong’s revenge plot? There’s not much story to tell though because they already told everything during the final episode but yes, I think it can be a whole new story to tell. Everyone knows my prediction for this, I love it and I loved it more especially when the part 2 was out. The plot was so good that it deserves more seasons to come.
All in all, the series just teaches us that what comes around goes around. We cannot just get away from doing something bad. I would definitely give this a 94% wonderroanne rating.
