Who would’ve thought that a movie about cars, drag races, gang and heist will become this big of a franchise? We all know that Fast and Furious is actually famous ever since its first release on 2001 but it is not hidden in public records that F&F franchise just went a little more in the higher scale after Paul Walker died (in 2013 of a fatal car crash). It is known that when he died, he was also in the works of filming the upcoming franchise, Fast and Furious 7. After his death, it seems like people have gotten more interested of the movie, especially the younger ones.

In the Fast7, they hired Paul’s brother, Caleb and used some CGI to make the scenes of Paul a little more realistic that it can be. This franchise is actually the most profitable franchise of all, by having $397.6M gross earning on its worldwide opening and a total of $1.1B gross earning in just 20 days. Yes, the 1B marked was met before even 20 days from the release date. Clearly, this franchise has risen from having men fan based into family, kids and women fan based too.

The movies that followed Fast 7, were also successful and the franchise had spin off as well (which I reviewed: Furious:Hobbs and Shaw & Fast 9), and it seems like everyone just love how Dominic Toretto and his friends became their own extended family. I mean, it felt like Paul and Vin were like our brothers too and even the enemies that they faced before have actually helped them in some ways, so the question is, after 11 movies, is it really necessary to have another one? or a possibility of continuing the franchise until Dominic Toretto’s son turns 18? Well, even in my previous moview of Fast 9, I also mentioned that this might be the last franchise and they will make a two-part thing, just like any another movie series that are about to end.

Anyway, speaking of the latest release, I will definitely give you a chance to watch it first and then, you can continue what you’re reading in my blog, because s usual, this is a disclaimer. I’m going to definitely talk about so many things with the latest movie, not only that, I’m gonna explain all the relativeness of each important scenes, characters(new and old), and also the events that connects them to other movie franchises of the F&F.

The Synopsis

The movie started with a clip of a heist that was done by Dom and the other crew 10 years ago, surprisingly, thanks to CGI, Brian O’Conner (Played by Paul Walker) was present in the scene. They robbed Hernan Reyes and ended up killing him as well. Little did they know his son, Dante survived the attack and is here to get some revenge.

Roman, Tej, Ramsey and Han flew to Rome to do some job involving stealing some important cargo and while Dom and Letty enjoying their domestic life with their child and all of a sudden, in the middle of a peaceful night, Cipher entered came into their doorstep, bleeding and about to inhale her last breathe. They asked her what happened to her and so she told them that a person who looks for Dominic has stolen her tech and planning to use it on inflicting pain to Dominic Toretto, in exchange for the life of his father and the suffering he made him feel.

This concludes that Roman and the others are tied up in a fake mission which later revealed that it was actually Dante, the same person who attacked Cipher and stole her tech. The tricky part is, Dante is wealthy enough to get whatever he wants, not only that, he uses the family of each of his crew to threaten them so he’s been hiring assassins and other groups that can help him kill Dom’s family to make Dom suffer.

The verdict and also explanations…

It seems like a short synopsis because the movie was actually divided into two parts, making this sequel the first of the two movies and this means most of the scenes are just the beginning. We all saw Letty and Cipher together in Antartica, while Roman, Tej, Ramsey and Han are riding a plane, Dom and his son were car cashing with Dante. These are just the key scenes of the movie but we never actually see how any of this ended because the second movie will be the answer to that. We might not be able to talk about so many things about it but we can talk about the reunions that has been happening all throughout the film.

But first, let’s talk about all the ‘new’ things in Fast X. Justin Lin, the previous director of the moview series dropped out from directing the movie due to misunderstanding and disagreements with Vin (according to reports surfacing online). He was replaced by Louis Leterrier but even though there was a slight change, they managed to keep the story and add some spice to it toe make it complete.

Jason Momoa as the villain is something else. Aside from his character being a psycho, he definitely mirrored the The Joker theme in it (He’s a DC after all, so I had to create a connection). I hated him in the film, like he is so annoying that it made me realized that he is an effective actor because he made everyone’s blood boil during the movie.

Brie Larson, (Captain Marvel), is the daughter of Mr. Nobody, the guy who always help the Fast Family and now it is her turn to help them and join the Fast Family too.

Alan Ritchson as Aimes, he is the new leader of the agency but apparently he is actually working with Dante the entire time. He is one of the investors that were actually in the scene during Dom and his crew did the Heist.

Isabel, played by Daniela Melchior is actually a mystery too. She is the street racer that Dom saved, but she is not just a girl that Dom saved, she is the daughter of Dom’s ex girlfriend, Elena.

Helen Mirren plays Magdalene Ellmanson-Shaw, Deckard Shaw’s mother is also present. (If you don’t know her she is also in Shazam’s latest movie)

Deckard Shaw was also in the movie. He actually saved Han during an ambush. Deckard became part of the Fast Family after he was defeated in the Hobbs and Shaw movie and so, he helps whenever he can.

And John Cena as Jakob, Dom’s brother, who was introduced in Fast 9. He kind of tried to save his nephew from getting kidnapped by Dante, however, while doing so, he had to sacrificed himself. We still don’t know if he is actually dead or hopefully gonna come to rise int he right moment and in the right time.

The Credits and other things…

The movie had gone to some serious fails, Letty is in the middle of nowhere with Cipher but that didn’t stop us from getting some action because aside form the two of them, Giselle, played by Gal Gadot showed in the scene, saving them. Ramon, Tej, Ramsey and Han are also on the edge. The plane they were riding had a problem, causing them to possibly crash and then, to make it worst, Dom and his son are left in the dam, after they tried to escape Dante.

At this point we are out of answers and we don’t know what happened to all of them. Knowing Fast X, they will definitely going to make some surprises along the way. Speaking of surprises, the movie has one important detail left in the post credit. Dom’s ‘other’ partner during the Heist was actually Hobbs, played by Dwayne Johnson. If Hobbs was in the picture, I think the Samoans will be affected too coz Dante might come after them too.

That leaves us to many cliff hangers.

All in all, I can’t say anything about the movie yet but if I’d have to, I really love how it started, all the surprises and the reunion were actually great. I love to see more reunions in the second movie so that it will be enough for me to geek about it. I’m also looking forward to seeing more of the action but less Dante, yes until now I still don’t like Dante in the movie.

I am pretty sure they won’t kill any of them yet and so we have to just sit back and trust the process.
