A new Netflix series about a queer man who was picked to work for a prestigious make up company was launched last month and all the things about it is just so familiar some-else-where. This is not the first that shows had actually reinvented that plot where the main character enters a dream job and the plot revolves around it. Devil wears Prada did that and that is one iconic movie up to this date however, more and more movies and TV Series had essentially follow the plot design of DWP all throughout the years but never did I see any of them succeed, one of them is The Bold Type, where is it now? Never have gone any renewals because the series actually flopped by the second season, it was lucky enough to renew even, I’d say.

I guess we all have heard or saw the new TV series that I am talking about, starring Kim Cattrall (you all know her for playing Samantha in Sex & the City), she is playing a legend from the modeling world and make up world, Madolyn Addison and Miss Benny playing Marco Mejia. The show is definitely something, I mean, there’s so much going on but it’s a little over the place, I’d say. The plot is okay, they actually focused on each of the cast’s stories but it came out too much because there’s too much story, too many conflicts and too many affairs going on, it’s like they are trying to relieve Sex and the City vibe with the Devil Wears Prada scenery, you get what I mean?

The story is interesting because of characters, the show is obviously an LGBTQ++ focused story so it is not surprising but while watching the movie I felt like the movie is actually an live action series of Brettman Rock’s life. Like it was so relatable to his entire existence. He started as a makeup YouTuber and grew up to become famous as he is right now, it is so nice to see stories like this however, as I was saying in the first part of this article, this has obviously the DWP vibe but didn’t actually make it. Now I am wondering if they just made this because Kim Cattrall is not part of the Sex and the City Gang anymore, so definitely she needs to do something. I don’t know, but this was the vibe that is giving me. It’s like they just push the plot to go through and then bam! were have ourselves a new Kim Catrall series. Anyway, what’s to be bitter about? The new SATC didn’t actually keep up with the previous one and it is because Samantha, the most interesting character of them all is not there anymore.

We haven’t heard of any renewals for The Glamorous anytime soon but the last episode made it clear that there will be possibility and if they do, I hope they will focus on having more substance in the story.

All in all I would give this 80% wonderroanne rating.
