Delete: Thai Series Review

Rating: 4 out of 5.

It’s been a while since I last watched a Thai series and I have been in awe lately because of the reality that Thai series/movie plots are actually very unique and I think this is what makes them really watchable and very relatable most of the time. Netflix released an eight-episode-long series about a mysterious mobile phone that deletes the people whose photos have been taken using its camera.

The series started with Lilly meeting a mysterious girl who asked her to take a photo of her, when she did, as soon as she click capture, a bright light lights the whole supermarket and within a split second the girl was nowhere to be found. Lilly is a wife of a rich man named Too, however, despite the conformable living, she discovered comfort with writer, Aim who became his other man. The two are trying to be together, trying to break off their current relationships, leading to having Aim used the phone on deleting his girlfriend and with all this mystery going on, they still cannot figure out what is happening to whoever gets delete until Lilly was abducted by the mysterious girl she deleted in the supermarket. They found out so many things about the phone.

The story revolved on the people who got their hands on the mobile phone. and they slowly discovered how they can actually use the phone to their advantage. This happens when Too discovered what the mobile can do and at the end of the series a cliff hanger was shown, leaving us for more questions asked.

I believe that the series was still not done. A possibility of season 2 is actually obvious, especially if you saw the ending of episode 8. This makes me more excited more than anything. Although, there are some points that I actually felt like the story doesn’t really go with the main plot but after seeing the last episode, I finally realized that there’s a reason why there’s a slow pace on the story line and I think this really deserves a follow up and we need it now.

All in all, just like what I said, Thai plots really surprises me so much and I think Thai and Korean series and movies are now invading the big screen for a reason, this is why they should invest more with these kinds of productions rather than stick with US Films considering them as a mainstream when more other country-produced series/movies are actually really good.

Would definitely give this a 89% wonderroanne rating.
