Bitch X Rich

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Well, there’s that. Another school setting Korean drama is out on Netflix and this time around, this is not your ordinary school drama, but rather, it is one of the most relatable Korean drama that was released last 2023. We’ve all seen Penthouse, which was really good and also Celebrity which depicts the whole rich and popular life of celebrities, while this new series entitled Bitch X Rich is actually trying to give us a sneak peek to the life of rich kids and how it is different from the ordinary school kids and how it is so hard to be in the circle, moreover, how it is so hard to be escape once you’re in.

This series is starred by a very familiar casts, from Red Velvet KPOP group, Yeri and Lee Eun-saem who played a character in the zombie series, All Of Us Are Dead. It is about a poor student who witnessed a suicide or rather, murder in a school for rich kids. She was able to get into the school because the school management wanted to masked the incident and they wanted her to shut her mouth about whatever she saw during that night when one student fell in the building inside the campus. However, Hye-in played by Eun-saem didn’t have the best experience even during her first day after she had an unexpected encounter with Baek Je-na played by Yeri, basically the queen of the school. She was terrorized until slowly, she was able to figure out who really the students really are and what they are capable of.

In the series, they showed flashbacks of who and what really went down and what caused this suicide/murder in the school, however, the only thing Hye-in understands by now is that it is really hard to get along with someone who has a power to take you down because of their wealthy status. The series ended with a cliffhanger, although, Hye-in might have an idea who killed the student but in reality she is far from the truth, and that’s for the viewers to figure out why.

Well, I really did like the series, it spoke to me more than Penthouse did because this is like a darker side of the kdrama series when it comes to school, a little realistic than we all imagined. I may have been wrong about the conclusions I have while watching the series but there’s so many answered questions by the end of it. I think that there’s a possibility of a new season because we were all left with so many cliffhangers that actually deserve some explanation and continuation. This will garner so many views because of the story and I’m not surprise if they will publish the second season, if there’s any.

All in all, I love how the Kdrama is getting a little closer to puzzle series, and to thriller series just like how American shows to their thing but of course, Korean dramas are very unique, especially the plots. These definitely serve different vibes. I would definitely give this a 88% wonderroanne rating.
