SCREAM 7 (A Moview)

Rating: 2.5 out of 5.

Living a life of what it seemed a real-life horror for Sidney is diabolical especially when she has been a survivor of Ghostface attacks through the years. However, after so many years, the nightmare is really trying to find her or maybe this time, her whole family. Sidney is now a mother of a teenager, Tatum Evans, named after Tatum Riley, who was Sidney’s best friend, who died because of ghostface attacks.

Life is very normal for Sidney until a new ghostface killer surfaces their town, giving a new thriller not only in Sidney’s life but also for her daughter, Tatum.

The movie is again, the same old custom story that we have been watching throughout the years, giving it a 7th installment which is really a big thing especially for movie installment like this. In the early 2000s, we actually enjoy thriller/horror/suspense movies releasing new installment every year and Scream movie series is one of them.

What’s new in this installment is how Sidney’s previous life became her identity and no matter what she does, it always follow her like a shadow and this time, it’s not only her whose being targeted but also her daughter. When she discovered that the new ghostface is somehow a familiar person, namely, Stu, whom we all know was already dead but still pretty skeptical that Stu is still alive, they tried to unmask the new ghostface, only to find out that there are three new ghostface and one of them is right under her nose

Alright, I will not put into details every gruesome and gory scenes, but I just love the last scene in the bar(you should watch that). The movie was as what every Scream was expected to be. While they still try to hide who the killer was just like the last three movies that were released, I must say, they still manage to surprise people(at least the ones who doesn’t have any idea how the ghostface theory works).

All in all this movie for me has kind of lost its spark through the years. I think I was already done by Scream 5 and adding two more was a little bit too much. They could’ve just saved its glory by stopping into the fifth installment(well, if you ask me, it could just been until the 3rd one). Some movie series are just meant to be left right there in the past for everyone to rewatch and relive.

I would give this 85% wonderroanne rating, based on its relativity when it coms to the new generation especially the AI. It definitely taught us something about that. If I were to choose, they need to stop this installment but it looks like there’s a possibility that they are going to make another one focusing on Tatum this time.
