The Hows Of Us: Crossing All Lines (Moview)

George: “Hindi ka na pwedeng bumalik dito, wala ka ng karapatan. You left, remember?”
Primo: “Pinaalis mo ako. Magkaiba ‘yun!”
George: “Pero umalis ka naman. Now, leave!

-Lines from the movie.

Currently a blockbuster hit with more than 400 million peso gross, another kathniel (Love team consists of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla) romantic drama is hitting all the local and international cinemas.

Directed by one of the most talented directors in the film history of the Philippines, Cathy Garcia-Molina, the movie is one of the most anticipated film of the year.

I’m not gonna raise any points yet, but this will be my first moview of a Filipino film (OPM- Original Pinoy Movie…hahaha you see what I did there? Yaaas!)

Please take this opportunity to discontinue reading if you haven’t watched the film yet, because I’m going to give this review a genuine, bop-to-the-top review. Kindly read at your own risk.

Curious yet? I know, I just watched this yesterday and I think it did me some good thinking, you know?

We All Have That One Ex…

“Don’t end up with a man who sounds like me, who say the things I say, who can make you smile just like I did. End up with someone who will do things that won’t remind you of me.” – Verbal words from my Ex to me.

They said that a love that is in the past, is a love that has to be forgotten, but what if that love was the only thing that keeps reminding you of how much it hurts to find another one again? Well, the famous quote from Alfred Lord Tennyson, “‘Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.” is just a perfect explanation of everything I would want this blog to be understood of.

I’ve heard it from different people, they said it is hard to let go of something that you used to love and cherish; it is hard to let go of that person who made you feel so special and it is hard not to take your hopes up and expect for something better.

Over time, I realized how moving on doesn’t only mean you are over the person but moving on also means that you have forgotten the feeling and the regret you have when you let them go.

We all have that one ex that made us walk through a high bridge or touch the sky even if you look like a fool; that one person who made us feel like we are in a cloud 9 and that the world stops revolving around us when we’re together; that one person who made us eat veggies and home made fries instead of burgers and fries from fast food chains because they just do so and that one person who made us more comfortable watching movies leaning on their shoulders or spending the night over instead of partying with friends because they know that we have an exam coming for the next day. Modern Day Dating: Swipe Right or Swipe Left

In our generation now, going to clubs/bars to hang out is too blunt. Why not swipe right and look for someone who will match your credentials (like they like you just the way you like them) I’m not washing any hands in this section because I, myself, have tried that thing too. (Tinder, OKCupid and Skout) Although, I’m not talking about me getting someone to hook up with but I just want to tell everyone how using this app can cause you major disconnection with the real world and the real steps on dating.

These are 10 signs that dating apps had invaded your life and you might want to have a second look from using it.

1. You have experienced ONE TEXT STAND.

This is when a guy you got matched with, talked to you for the whole night and then he unmatched or blocked you the next day. I mean, yeah, same with the usual one night stand but the difference is you never did anything although you shared some info about yourselves (sometimes it’s even personal). Too bad how other people think dating app is for casual hook ups only but it’s not. OKay you date but why not meet new friends using those?
I’ve met some who were like that, yes, I had experienced one text stand! and I also did that to someone for a reason. Continue reading “Modern Day Dating: Swipe Right or Swipe Left”

FIFTY SHADES OF GREY: “My tastes are very singular…”

fifty_shades_of_grey_ver5_xlg

I’d love to salute the author of this best-selling series, E.L. James, for making every reader’s imagination possible because of the movie. Well, who doesn’t want to see a real-life Christian Grey & Anastasia Steele, right?

I’m a fan of the series, which left me really aching for a remake—it’s not like I’m telling you guys that the movie wasn’t great—because I just think it didn’t give that much justice for the book at all.

From 50 shades of grey to darker then to freed…I’m so hooked! And like I’m so in love with the books—I read them repeatedly and I actually intend to read them again tonight, then tomorrow and then next week—I like the attack of the story—as well as the fervid BDSM thing and that is another story—like the Bella Swan-like attitude of Ana, that was really dope and the forever-smitten-Edward-look of Mr. Grey, that was really cloth-dropping looks.

So let’s go back to the movie; I love the movie but I think I was a bit mortified because the scenes were too fast and weren’t that much elaborated just like in the book. All in all, the movie is beyond satisfaction but still a little fast phase than I ever expected. Well, if this will be the case, I would love to watch a 6 hour length movie just as to give justice of what is written in the book—super long movies are way better because everything is detailed and executed ardently—just like Gone with the Wind!

This is not a full review of whatever is not in the movie—I’m not a legal critic who was paid to say something good or bad about anything—I’m merely stating whatever is written in my head while watching the movie and comparing it with the book.

Hence, my 50 shades of wondering and brooding while watching the movie; Continue reading “FIFTY SHADES OF GREY: “My tastes are very singular…””
