Percy Jackson and The Olympians Review

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Okay, we’ve loved Logan Lerman as Percy and we have been waiting for the next movie since like forever, and that gives me an utter disappointment that they will never continue that movie series. But now, Disney, has come to refresh our minds and decided to remake Rick Riordan’s books and do a longer tale than the movie. Directed by Pierre Gill and Jules O’Loughlin another ship is going to sail for our favorite character Percy Jackson.

Percy Jackson is a story about a demi-god, who have never known his real identity until creatures have been trying to get him and one day, his mother told him everything sent him to camp half blood. But the real story is that he has to prove Zeus that he isn’t the lightning thief or else, destruction will come.

I have the chance two watch the first three episodes and the series may have been a little different from the movie but I think since this is a tv series, they did justice on how they can actually make this enjoyable on each episode they release. If you compare the movie and the tv series with the books, the movie was closer than the tv series, maybe because they had to choose some elements that can make the series go a little longer however, if you read the book, of course, you’ll get a little confused. You know me, I do love comparing books against their adaptations and so, that’s what we will do.

Sorry for the spoilers, but yes, we need to tackle some of it.

Little Mermaid (A Book, Cartoon and Film Comparison)

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Look at this stuff, isn’t neat… Oh yeah, that song, we all know that. And this is one of the most famous Disney fairytales which has now been remade into a live action movie, meaning, there’s a real life girl playing as a Little Mermaid, Ariel. If you’re a 80s-90s baby, you’ll appreciate the fact that technology has its ways to make your favorite cartoons come to life, and as impossible as it was when you were a kid, now, you can just imagine yourself being that girl, but this time, seeing it as a real human not a cartoon character. We’ve watched, Mulan, Cinderella, Belle, Jasmine, and Aurora in live action films and this time, we’ve got ourselves the opportunity to witness Ariel coming into life.

For this who don’t know, Little Mermaid was written by Hans Christian Anderson in 1870 which became a cartoon story made by Disney in the late 80s. From then and there we got all the dish about Little Mermaid and being the only mermaid as a Disney princess, she is definitely became one of the favorites.

The book and the cartoon, however constructs a different story. The cartoon, was made for kids but the book was made for Fantasy seekers and not for fainted hearts. I believe I not need Andy versions on where I compare the two but, I’d be happy to include this before I even review the live action movie of the Little Mermaid. So let’s start.

For those who never read nor watch any of the Little Mermaid versions, please do so, at least one of those available so you will understand where I’m actually coming from. Before you click/scroll more, this will be my official disclaimer.

Encanto: The Non-Gifted Are Also Gifted(A Moview)

The truth is gift or no gift, I’m just as special as everyone in my family.

Mirabel, Encanto.

Disney has made it again, from Moana to Coco to Luca, I think Disney has started to introduce ethnic characters to all the viewers coz for all I know, Pocahontas holds that title ever since. This new movie released at the end of 2021, entitled Encanto, this is based on Colombian culture that tackles about a family who was saved by a magical candle that the light does put out.

The movie is focused on an entire town that was hidden by magic and saved from conquerors. It is led by the Madrigal family’s eldest, Abuela. Each of the Madrigal’s were gifted magic that gave their town hope, light and all things that they need. Let’s enumerate the family tree and their powers:

TV Series You Need To Binge-watch this 2021

Hey guys! I know I haven’t been writing too much lately but I tried my best to keep up. I haven’t been so updated with movies because of the closing of cinemas so I’m rather stuck with subscribing TV Streaming apps such as Starzplay, OSN, Disney+, AppleTV, VIU and Netflix, well, I’m sure there’s other more.

There are so many latest TV Series and Movies which were actually available and if you need some fix on watching old TV Series, there are avaialbale ones too so here’s my list for 2021.

Let’s call this a part 1 of many.

  1. Bridgerton (Netflix) – Based on a novel series The Duke and I for Julia Quinn. It’s more like an English version of Gossip Girl. Well, I’d give this rating a 5 star because I love the books and I trust a series if it’s produced by The Shonda Rhimes. So if you enjoyed Gossip Girl, might as well, meet Lady Whistledown.

2. Mandalorian (Disney+) – It is the first live-action series in the Star Wars franchise, beginning five years after the events of Return of the Jedi (1983). So if you love Star Wars, this one’s for you! Plus, I love seeing baby Yoda!

3. Bling Empire (Netflix) – If you never got the hang from Crazy Rich Asians, then this new reality show about real-life rich Asians who are constantly enjoying their lavish life more than any rich people can imagine. I’m talking about signature brands and high-fashion jewelry plus the drama in this documentary is very much a representation of the rich Asian Community in Los Angeles.

After the success of this Disney Movie, Continue reading “Frozen II: A Moview”

“Love doesn’t always end well, Beastie.” – Maleficent

Despite My absence from my blog, I wanted to give you a brief review of the recent moves that I watched while I was out of the country and of course, I missed three latest movies of November, so I will be needing a catch up marathon in the weekend.
