Dear Diary, I’m 32

Well, there’s that, I always try to write some kind of article that express my gratitude for being alive for another year and that article is one of them. I will need to do a year of recap about my life. All in all, I realized that I have been AFK for a very long time so let me tell you all about that in this write up. But first, why am I doing this?

Well, I just turned 32 last Aug 2, and it feels like there’s so much going on in my life except getting some success I have been planning for the longest time, meaning I still didn’t get my shit fixed. I’m still paying huge loans, I am still trying to figure out what I really wanna do with my life. Still didn’t finish language school. Still am trying my best at my job. Still don’t have any money in the bank. In short, still the same person that I was a year ago.

Replacing Chef Chico: Review

There’s so many series that are new to Philippine TV standards but I am so amazed how the cinematography when it comes to Philippine films and TV dramas has gone from average to international standards. Most of the new TV series that are being released this year were actually passing the international standards and one of them is the recent Netflix release, entitled, Replacing Chef Chico.

Starring Alessandra de Rossi, Piolo Pascual and Sam Milby. This is the story of Hain, a filipino contemporary restaurant that serves Filipino traditional cuisine with the fusion of each of the customer’s life stories. The main plot is Chef Chico, played by Sam, was being replaced temporarily by his sous chef, Ella, played by Alessandra after he met an accident, causing him to stay in coma, with the supervision of Raymond, played by Piolo, the consultant that Chico’s parents’ hired to decide with the future of the restaurant as it is facing a fall back in the industry.

Bling Empire: New York

Rating: 4 out of 5.

When we think we saw everything, not yet. There’s so many things we have to discover in the rich world, in the Rich Asian world. Yes, I’m talking about those crazy rich asians that cannot just afford a Balenziaga or Dior or LV bags and products but also if they wanted to, they can buy the whole store. I’ve talked about them for many times already, you’ve seen a couple of my reviews on shows about them and I thought it was enough, well, I was wrong, we can squeeze some drama a little more and divas will just come running out. I think some of you knows what I’m actually talking about. It is the reality TV show Bling Empire. Where you can watch how rich asians in Los Angeles live their every day lives and how they actually mingle with their friends. I did a review of the previous season of BE and you can read it HERE.

This time, Netflix has gone to the Empire State of Mind, New York to witness the world of rich asians in the other side of the country. This isn’t your typical reality TV show where they just film what happens every day but it shows more than anything we deserve, the drama and the other things.

Singles Inferno S2: Are we really?

Rating: 3 out of 5.

And yes, after a year of waiting, we are here now watching the new season of Singles Inferno. It’s a Korean dating reality show which they isolate players in a remote island to be able to meet someone they can connect with. I actually have written a review of the series last year. Click Here

The show was all the same as the first season, same mechanics: They need to choose someone they like to date despite of not knowing their status in life and what their jobs are and if that person chooses them back then they will have a chance to be in the Paradise; a place where they will be able to ask everything that they want, including the age, job and anything under their curiosity. As long as they are in Paradise they will be able to ask away. And of course, the food, most of them actually looks forward with the food they will be able to eat more than their dates.

20th Century Girl (A Moview)

Rating: 5 out of 5.

I swear, the 90s and early 00s are the most interesting era, coz it’s not that too vintage and it’s not that too modern. It just runs in the middle of both vintage and modern era, and lately, Kdramas have been rediscovering the 90s theme and I kinda loving what they are doing. We had so many Kdramas that were actually set up during the 90s and early 00s. This time, they made another extraordinary film, it is yet to be told that this film is actually trying to give us the modern vintage vibes but right now, I’m gonna say it, it is catering the era which I clearly remember. I’m a 90s kid so I’d say this is one of the best story I’ve come across.

The story started with a girl named Na Bo-ra, played by Kim You-jung who also played in The Rookie Girl who promised her ill best friend whose going to have her surgery that she will find her best friend’s crush, whom she mentioned was named Baek Hyun-Jin. Na Bo-ra tried her best to get information of the said boy and met Poong Woon-Ho, Baek Hyun-Jin’s best friend.
