Traveling In A Ticking Time (The Adam Project Moview)

Back to the future, Time Traveler’s Wife, About Time, Tenet just some of my favorite time travel movies, yes, you read that right, and now, Netflix has yet again made a new movie which focuses on time traveling. I know it is very futuristic but who doesn’t want to time travel? Who doesn’t want to know if their bigger self is gonna be successful or something else? Who doesn’t want for them to know whom they will end up with or if are they going to end up with anyone? Yes, I know, knowing the future sounds a little bit tempting coz if I would know that I’m gonna be a big shot in the near future, maybe a known movie reviewer possibly, I will keep this thing that I do and just think of that as a motivation or if I’m gonna fail in the future, at least I will have the chance to change the future but of course the altercation may cause so much things in the history but yes, that’s gonna be awesome. I wouldn’t have to worry about deciding on thing coz I will know eventually.

A Weekend Away (A Moview)

Remember when Leighton Meester played as a creepy roommate in 2011? Yes, I do, and that’s one of the reason I chose to have a dorm room of my own when I was in university…just coz…And this is also played by Christina Wolfe, you know her, she’s the latest Batwoman. Yes, I knowLeighton Meester is the OG.

Anyway, it’s been a long time since I saw Leighton in the limelight ever since Gossip Girl, and I think this new Netflix movie she is starring is giving us the Leighton we missed. The story is about best friends spending the time abroad for a weekend to party and catch up, that’s all we do, right? But what will you do if the weekend you expected to be just a weekend full of fun turns out to be a weekend you will regret having? And what if you wake up only to find out later on that your friend died? or worst, what will you do if you became the prime suspect in a murder case?

Yes, getting the chills yet? The story is quite interesting but not everyone knows that this story was adapted from a book of the same title that was published last 2020 and written by Sarah Alderson. I have read the book before so I get all the heads up here while watching the movie but of course, they won’t follow the book as is, although I think getting to compress the whole story in just an hour and thirty minutes is a little challenging. Do you wanna know the differences from the book VS the movie? I mean, scroll down if you do!

Like the usual, if you want to see some spoilers on both novel and the film then here’s your key…

In The World Of Swindlers (A Moview of Inventing Anna and Tinder Swindler)

How very often do we visit the social media and just find fake news and scams? Even in our emails, text messages and in the real world, we get to meet or experience scammers. When I was in university, our thesis study was about Internet Shopping, which definitely calls for scammers. We can see nowadays how scams are happening when it comes to online shopping, like you’re gonna buy an item and receive a completely different item. I’m sure you’ve seen those memes also. But scammers are not just only in online shopping, they are actually everywhere, but what if the scammer is the one you love or the one you let in your circle? Are you really reading everyone right or you should learn more on screening scammers?

Well, this article is a back to back review of the recent Netflix shows that trended for weeks, Tinder Swindler and Inventing Anna. Let’s start with Inventing Anna because this is actually on trend especially now that designer brands and socialites are hitting the limelights. This show was actually inspired by the story of the socialite-wanna-be who embezzled or should I say borrow and never paid anything, Anna Delvey or Anna Sorokin, as her real name. Anna entered the world of IT people of NYC, introducing herself as a German heiress who has a billions of trust fund. Slowly, when she arrived NYC, she gained friends from different industry, especially the big ones. The show definitely put a fictional reenactment on whatever happened with Anna Delvey while living in New York until her trial but of course some of the events were a work of fiction only but if you read articles and watch documentaries about her, the show and the documentaries were almost identical. I love how they didn’t change much but they just made some events that weren’t actually clear on reports. There were also theories made which led us to thinking that, yes, maybe she is really is, or she really did that.

For those who haven’t read the part 1 of my moviews, I wrote my sentiments while watching the film, here’s the article and you can read HERE. So this second part of my review will focus on the comparison of the Spiderman: No Way Home and comics versions, post credit scenes and the possibility and futures of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

If you’re still reading this even after so many warnings that this contains spoiler from the movies, then you might have watched the movie already, so yes, go scroll down, but if not, don’t blame me for spoiling so much! ✌🏻(At this point, I believe that everyone have watched the movie and spoilers is okay.)

Comic to Movie Comparison

The plot line for Spiderman: No Way Home is more similar to the comic version The Amazing Spiderman: One More Day which was published in 2007. This is a 4-part comic story where the crossover for 3 Spiderman happens and yes, I can tell you it is definitely adapted on that story but of course, changes are there to be able to match the current MCU timeline.

In the comics, Aunt May dies of gunshot wound that happened in the Civil War, while in the movie she dies because of a wound caused by Goblin’s glider. In the movie, Peter focused on fixing his present day situation and asked the help of Dr. Strange to erase the world’s memories of his identity. In the comics, He seeks the help from Tony Stark and Dr. Strange to bring back Aunt May’s life; and I believed he seek Dr. Doom and and Dr. Octopus for help.

Encanto: The Non-Gifted Are Also Gifted(A Moview)

The truth is gift or no gift, I’m just as special as everyone in my family.

Mirabel, Encanto.

Disney has made it again, from Moana to Coco to Luca, I think Disney has started to introduce ethnic characters to all the viewers coz for all I know, Pocahontas holds that title ever since. This new movie released at the end of 2021, entitled Encanto, this is based on Colombian culture that tackles about a family who was saved by a magical candle that the light does put out.

The movie is focused on an entire town that was hidden by magic and saved from conquerors. It is led by the Madrigal family’s eldest, Abuela. Each of the Madrigal’s were gifted magic that gave their town hope, light and all things that they need. Let’s enumerate the family tree and their powers:

Spiderman: No Way Home (A Blow-by-Blow Reaction) Part 1 of 2 Moviews

Okay this is the start of a new chapter for our friendly neighborhood Spiderman. Yes, this sequel comes after the scene where Mysterio was killed in the battle of Spiderman however, there was a huge turn of events. You see, I’m starting this article not with my normal lead paragraph in which I get to tell you the $700 Million Blockbuster ticket sales for the first five days after the release or did I? Yap! First day it hit the cinemas everyone is in their seats, with their popcorns and sodas, with cellphones on silent. I know, this is probably not the end game but this is Spiderman. This dude can outlive sales of all the DC movies even without the avengers’ name in the title. (For a DC fan to say that, Spiderman really can have his own universe and still keep staggering sales)

Anyway, back to the blog, you may have noticed the title, I said blow by blow, this term is actually used in journalism and especially in Broadcasting, it means it is a narrative of all the details in order to give a more precise information. This is actually done during reports. I know of it coz I majored in journalism so, I think as an avid fan of Spiderman, my readers deserve my blow by blow reactions in this installment. As you see I have watched all Spiderman movies and read most of the comics even the new Venom movies, I had written all of them in my blog so for me to give an insight on how I actually fill my notes while I watch the movie, yes, I take notes while watching the movie, I think this could help reader understand my entire excitement while watching the movie. This could be the longest article I will be writing (despite my writer’s block) and I hope I do some justice on explaining some events that were actually connected in the MCU universe and my verdict of the movie and post credits.

Again, just a disclaimer, I managed to keep my notes to myself, for more than a month since the day of the release. I promise my readers not to spoil it by writing it a little early coz some countries haven’t watched the Spiderman yet because of pandemic situation. This will be a full on spoiler post. So for those who haven’t watch, stop right here and don’t click more or scroll more. But for those who did, click more and let’s begin the exciting reaction while watching the film.

The Matrix 4, Is This The Closure We All Need?

Matrix – the one and only film that I think had me believing that sci-fi/action movies are a real deal. I haven’t watched Matrix 1 until I was in grade school because of my mom; back when home theaters are still in and we just get to rent movie CDs, a month after the movie was released. I know, I was like in my early grade school when I practically learn to love different genres of movies or should I say, I learn to love movies generally. I wished I just reviewed movies early in my college years just as to show everyone how I actually love watching and try my best to give feedbacks about the scenes I really loved and the scenes I hated. I had so much opinion back then, well anyways, this is not about the past, let’s go back to the main topic, which is The Matrix.

The movie was first released in 1999 and both the 2nd and 3rd sequel were released in 2003. I had the chance to really understand the movie when I was in high school coz that’s the only time I was old enough to understand the whole concept without asking an adult about this-and-that kind of stuff while watching the movie. so the deal is after 20 years, how was the plot had gone? Knowing that they need to come up with a great plot that can make the viewers think that they actually just watched the last sequel as if it was yesterday.

Last December 2021, they managed to fill the void that all the Matrix fans had. One of the question that left us all hanging was Are Neo and Trinity really dead? Yes, coz they actually died on the third sequel which was meant to be the end of the film but is it? or they waited for 20 years to surprise all?

Spencer: The Movie (A Moview)

She’s called “People’s Princess” for a reason. You know her, I know her but not very well as the people of UK do coz she’s the one and only Princess Diana of Wales. You may have heard of her from your history books or many while you’re reading stuff about Monarchy and it is very known that she’s one of the most famous person in the world, so I think even the young people nowadays know her at least a much as I do.

There have been TV Series and movies that was focused on her and her story but this 2021, a musical and a movie was released and I think this is quite a great year to see a story about her. Oh and there are also documentaries about her. You see, she’s just not your ordinary princess, she’s married to Prince Charles of Wales and she’s the mother of Prince William and Prince Harry but I’m sure most of us know how she died and what’s the theories behind it.

Halloween Kills: A Moview

Michael Myers – I bet you all know who Michael is, yes, he’s been the talk of the scare during Halloween season coz he’s been haunting kids since 1978. He’s the killer in the infamous movie series Halloween that set foot in 1978 and then had so many sequels followed through out the years which is crazy because I think this is the only killer in every slasher movie ever known who has been in 11 installment and now just last month, before Halloween strikes again, they released a new movie following up all the movies from 1978. In 2021, Michael Myers has come back in the newest entry entitled, Halloween Kills, sounds about right? I know, sounds exciting especially if you are a fan of the slasher movies like Scream, Saw, Halloween Series, IKWYDLS, Chuckie and so many more.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage

In the midst of the world getting excited about Shang Chi and other new characters on the Marvel world, here I am, geeking about Venom and Spiderman. This October, Marvel has released the second sequel of the 2018 movie Venom. Tom Hardy is still playing Eddie/Venom while Woody Harrelson still plays Cletus Kasady. I know this is a deeper villain story not even focusing on Spiderman at all but I think viewers deserve a story behind the infamous Venom and Carnage.

For those who aren’t familiar of comics, Carnage is the result of the merging of the alien symbiote, Venom, with Cletus Kasady during an encounter in a prison breakout. They call it the offspring of Venom but stronger, smarter and more dangerous. In the new sequel of Venom we all saw how Venom is connected to Eddie in more ways we can imagine.

To be able to live in Eddie’s body, in the first movie, they agreed that he will stay in his body but with certain condition and one of them is not to eat humans and eat chickens instead; the second one is that he can eat human brain only if necessary. I’m not sure how does that contract varies but yes, they live quite while munching on chocolates and chickens however the dismay of Venom was showed in the latest movie. It’s like their bond is starting to crumble.
